2025 Transfer QB's

The top sophomores are already solidified (Arch, Nico) or have already transferred but I guess they got a free transfer when their coach got fired.

This is issue with trying to just grab a portal QB every year instead of recruiting them. Plug and play star quarterbacks like Cam are not common. Look at all the other guys we were supposedly interested in besides Cam. They’re trash. Well, Will Howard has been solid for Ohio state so far against two cupcakes. Riley Leonard, DJU, Malik Murphy? Those guys are buns. You can take a chance on a former top recruit who couldn’t get it done and hope he eventually turns into Jayden Daniels but those guys aren’t usually ready to just jump in and start and who’s to say they will be any better here than they were at their original school?

Didn’t UGA take Rashada and the Samoan kid who played well for Nevada or whatever? Maybe one of them

We're probably going to have to go get an unproven kid who is a freshman or sophomore right now. I have no problem with that cause he can be a multi year starter while Nickel gets up to speed. If that's the case, then next years expectations aren't the same as this years.

Also, Auburn is going big game hunting at QB. They'll be our biggest competition

If Bailey balls out, then he might be a good option.

You either want:

Somebody that is just an insane athlete like Lagway. That way if it takes them a little time to get down the system, their athleticism will make up for it.

Somebody that is currently running and succeeding in an Air Raid. That way the transition is smooth to the system.

NC State runs an Air Raid.

Wait,.. don’t we have a kid on the roster that’s unproven but has shown flashes of solid play and knows the system. Let’s keep him and invest in a Vet, or go all in on Lagway.

Maybe this is a crazy statement but I think Mario has to at least give it a second thought before he goes hard at Lagway. Probably means you lose both Emory and Nickel. QB room overall would go back to being pretty bare until Coleman arrives in 2026. Maybe DJ is too good of a talent to pass up.
 
If Mendoza from Cal wants to come back home, would be all for it.
