2025 Schedule

Love that ND is first game of the season. Hopefully a noon / 3:30 game with the sun beating down on their sideline. Have them cramping and gasping for air midway through the 2nd quarter.

Let us see what happens with the portal first.

Looks similar to a 1980’s schedule. I love it. Hope Mario fixes our issues or we are in trouble.
Agree and nice reference on the 80’s schedule.

Gotta love those complaining about the crowd size already. Something tells me ND and UF coming to town will be more energetic and attended than FAMU and Ball State.

Hope the issues will be fixed as well. 4-0 heading to FSU would look good.

Lets see what happens after the portal window and coaching changes.

Please ease off the Koolaide, there 5-6 losses in next year’s schedule.
Based on what? If the Rumors are true that we are going after Arnold/Mensah/Mateer as well as looking for a HC type of DC we will have a very good team next year.

The portal is loaded with Talent so i wait to see until after the bowl game but if we beat ISU we have momentum going into 25’ and on the flip side we have no idea how: UF/ND/SMU/FSU/Louisville/Pitt & VT will look.

ND Game 1 and UF a few games later is guaranteed national spotlight and Cam Ward speaks VERY highly of both Dawson & Mario not to mention he had a record year.

What we do with the defense between now and spring is going to be massive

If Miami wants to make a case to join the BIG10 I would start pushing to schedule teams from there to showcase the viewing potential. I would love a Miami-Penn State or Miami-Oregon matchup. We have an open OOC slot starting in 2027.

Playing soft schedules doesn’t benefit you if you’re losing multiple games. Ask the SEC.

Notre Dame
Losing their QB. They typically get up for big games, this is our toughest match up but it’s at home. Fix our defense and get a solid QB in the portal I like our chances.

Bethune-Cookman
Gets et the young guys playing time

USF
Don’t need to go in on them much. Should be favored by nearly 3 TD’s

Florida
Will be a challenging game. The whole team was locked in for week 1 in the rivalry. Florida trended up to end the season but I still like us.

@ FSU
Do I need to elaborate on this one? 2-10

Louisville
The Cards will continue to be a good team with Brohm. They lose their QB do they hit on the portal QB 3 years in a row?

NC State
Scrappy team. No one is looking at NC State as a conference contender next year

@ Pitt
Losing their QB as well

@ SMU
Toss up game, tbh I don’t know who they return on their team. But until we find out our QB I’ll put this as an L given we know they return a productive QB and we’re banking on major improvement on defense

Stanford
Every team with these new conference re alignments has had trouble going across country for this match ups. But Stanford was awful, we should be nearly 3 TD favorite .

Syracuse
Losing their QB and plenty of production on offense right? 2024 will have been likely their best season in a long time.

@ VTech
Total disappointment this year, QB regressing?

Who thinks our schedule is so tough? The ACC as a whole was good this year and sure it could be good next year also. There’s no one on our schedule that is a juggernaut. We should continue to expect 10 wins and if you make it through conference play with 1 loss you’re likely in the title game and the playoff. 10-2 expectation for me, 9-3 floor/11-1 ceiling. We need an improved defense that’s priority 1.2 behind QB portal acquisition priority 1.1

Those teams arent exactly terrible though
No but it’s the quintessential Mario game that catches his teams sleeping. Miami had no business losing to those teams and find a way. He needs to figure it out.

Is it really that bad? ND is always great but its the first game of the season so they could have early struggles like this year. UF is going to struggle again next year. For the ACC teams, there is absolutely no consistency in the conference from year to year beside Clemson. Just because a team was good this year means nothing for gauging them next year.

There's only a few knowns for next season.

1) Our Oline will be a strength again

Whatever way you want to look at it we're turning 3/5 or 4/5 of the offensive line with a senior Anez Cooper and JR Francis Mauigoa anchoring the right side. I'm sure we'll probably get a center in the portal to give Alofaituli time to adjust to the college game. Hopefully they'll take a another plug and play lineman to push McCoy and Bell on the left side.

2) RB Room should be deep and talented again

Fletcher and Lyle will be back. Should be a dynamic duo to go along with other talented backs still remaining along with the addition of Pringle.

3) Defense has some young talented players that showed flashes that should be better regardless of who is coaching them as long as they develop over the off season. There's talent there. Just need some holes plugged up from recruiting misses and also some better direction.

Bain
Brown
Blount
Patterson
Pruitt
Day - ST
Bryant
OJ
Popo
Pickett
McConathy
Scott
Moten

Still too early to predict records but as long as we make the moves we should in the offseason this team should be able to lean on the running game and compete with any team on the schedule next season.

No Georgia Tech? It’s ours for the taking.

The fact we are ****ting ourselves over ACC opponents not named Clemson says it all.

ND, UF, and FSU…. Take 2 of 3 we should be fighting for top seed and in ACC Championship game.

Sadly this won’t happen because it’s who we are now.
