2025 Schedule

Hmmm, we lose to an unranked team after leading 21-0…. And we do this with arguably the best QB in college football. It won’t be any problem at all for us to lose to VT next year. No problem at all.

With respect our roster and coaching staff are going to look markedly different. Making absolute statements right now is a complete guess. Who knows

The 12-game playoff has changed the way I look at the schedule.

Win the ACC or build an at-large resume by beating Notre Dame and/or Florida. There is room for a couple slip ups.
There's room for a couple slip ups...

If you're an SEC team.

Miami’s margin of error will always be wax paper thin.

We have to go 12-0 or 11-1, while winning the ACC.

A 10-2 season isn't gonna cut it, for us.

The only slip up allowed for us would be losing the ACCCG game and being 12-1 or maybe 11-2.

ESPN isn't going to let us in with a 10-2 record even if we beat Notre Dame and Florida but we miss out on the ACCCG.

The key is beating at least one of Notre Dame or Florida. They are going to be hyped teams. Win one or both of those and we make a statement to the nation.

We'll be favored in at least 10 games.

ND is the only one we most likely won't be.

Ironically, Mario does well against those big games. It’s the GT’s, Cuse’s and Louisville’s of the world that haunt him.

10-2 with one of the losses coming to ND or UF would be great

obviously would rather win them all but we we need to win the ACC, clemson benefited from getting their *** kicked by SEC teams this year and only losing 1 game in conference
I actually think we will end up beating both ND & UF and probably losing to Pitt & NC state lol

We can probably afford to lose to ND and one ACC matchup (outside of the conference title game) and still have an at-large shot at the playoffs.

How can you say that not knowing what our roster will look like next year or what coaches may still be here?
Because preseason, that's almost always the way it is. We're almost always favored in every ACC game we play except Clemson/FSU depending on their rosters. That's just because of the discrepancy of talent on the rosters.

Next year we'll be favored in at least 7 ACC games (@SMU is the only question mark as of now) and at least 3 of the non-conf games (ND/UF tossups).

I don’t understand how anybody can make a projection right now when portal season just opened up this morning and we may have one or two new coordinators. Boggles my mind that fans can keep coming to a site like this repeatedly yet never learned a thing.

Learned my lesson with Michigan St a few years back

The year before we played them they didn’t even look like a real team

You are not comparing a VT team to Syracuse (who's ranked btw) and had a top 3 passing offense in the nation. 3 TDs dont matter when your secondary is cheek and the opponent literal strength is throwing the ball up.

This goes back to UO and oregon fans always bring up how he dropped a game yearly like that..
