Yes, but Briggs is clearly wanted more than Chatman right now.

Actually, it’s the exact opposite.

ehhh...I mean I like Chatman a little better.

But coaches action from September thru now doesn't indicate that all.

Chatman was committed elsewhere until December. I think it was been noted by Pete that the coaches were ****ed and surprised. Thought he had been playing games after that commitment to Tenn and then backed off for a while.

They're obviously back on now.

But I do agree with you on your point. DT recruiting isn't as bad as people are making it seem. And if Tito Edenigbo can play 1tech DT, then we will have good DT play this year.

And we're in the final 2 for Coburn, which is pretty impressive since he was a long shot. We get him and Nesta this is an elite haul, idc what anyone says.

We’re in the top two for coburn? Where did I miss this?

Actions over words. Remember that.

Chatman wasn't the number 1 or 2 target because he said he didn't have an offer that he could accept. If he was the number 1 or 2 guy, then he would have had an actual offer. He has an offer now clearly.

Yeah imo the ORIGINAL plan was to only take 2 DTs.

And Chatman said himself he didn't have a committable offer.. Now that could mean we were holding a spot open in case we got a top national guy like Coburn. Or its because Briggs moved ahead on our board, which is what I think.

Honestly to me, there is barely a difference between Briggs and Chatman. They are good players. I don't think they are elite/great or anything. But they can help as a SDE at first, and then be a good rotational 3tech DT.

You have no idea what you're talking about. He had the offer, Miami coaches wanted him bad, he committed elsewhere. It's almost as if you haven't followed the timeline.

Chatman has an idea what he's talking about, fvckmouth. And Chatman said he couldn't commit to UM when he wanted to. I'll take his word over yours, fvckboy. Now, go back to skulking in the bushes and serial downvoting like the pvssy you are.

Clearly? How you know?

So far coach Kool D-Line recruiting has been pretty average. We Got DJ last year but he ended up leaving. Garvin nestsa and Ford we're quality signings but that's really it. We lost out on Briggs and we're not sure if we can land Chatfield.

Best of luck to you kid. By the way, where is your quote we wouldn't take his commit at the beginning of the year when we were recruiting him heavily & we wouldn't take it? I'm guessing you won't provide. But you keep looking like an idiot.

I dont know the timeline but Chatman just jumped to being the #1 guy on our big board after "losing" Briggs IMO.

We should worry about the lack of threads on D-Line recruiting. Does anyone on this website even care about our DL?

Jesus Christ. Chatman himself stated that we didn’t have a spot for him over the summer (which is peculiar to me from our number POV, but that’s another matter). Whether it was Ivins or quotes from elsewhere, he stated it. Also discussed via Pete’s podcast... it’s not on Franchise to provide quotes when anyone on this board who cares about this program has read the same thing. This chit pathetic, way too many facquits to weed through now. Go canes.

No, I don't think people should be worried unless they really want to, then have at it.

But, the staff definitely needs to reevaluate how they go about picking up Defensive lineman.

There's really only one position Miami should struggle with recruiting given our recent history & that's QB. We literally haven't had a good QB with NFL success since Jim Kelly. But because Richt is the de facto QB coach he hasn't had any issues as far as recruiting that position.

Every other position shouldn't have to pull teeth just to land kids. Even if Kool lands Coburn & Chatman with Nesta which is a great haul, we still need to take a look at what we're doing & possibly consider a different approach.

We have one of the best DL coaches in the Nation & a lot of our recent success in the Richt era can be attributed to a new approach with how our DL's are used, it shouldn't be this difficult to pick up big time Lineman.

DT's are extremely difficult to evaluate, so it takes a fine tuning to really get the right guy, but I think going forward we need to take more of a scorched Earth approach & not be so rigid with what they may be looking at as a precursor to getting an offer.

Vinny and Bernie were good QB's who had good NFL Careers
