Actions over words. Remember that.

Chatman wasn't the number 1 or 2 target because he said he didn't have an offer that he could accept. If he was the number 1 or 2 guy, then he would have had an actual offer. He has an offer now clearly.

You have no idea what you're talking about. He had the offer, Miami coaches wanted him bad, he committed elsewhere. It's almost as if you haven't followed the timeline.

Chatman has an idea what he's talking about, fvckmouth. And Chatman said he couldn't commit to UM when he wanted to. I'll take his word over yours, fvckboy. Now, go back to skulking in the bushes and serial downvoting like the pvssy you are.

Best of luck to you kid. By the way, where is your quote we wouldn't take his commit at the beginning of the year when we were recruiting him heavily & we wouldn't take it? I'm guessing you won't provide. But you keep looking like an idiot.

Jesus Christ. Chatman himself stated that we didn’t have a spot for him over the summer (which is peculiar to me from our number POV, but that’s another matter). Whether it was Ivins or quotes from elsewhere, he stated it. Also discussed via Pete’s podcast... it’s not on Franchise to provide quotes when anyone on this board who cares about this program has read the same thing. This chit pathetic, way too many facquits to weed through now. Go canes.

So you're saying you don't have any evidence from when we were recruiting him heavily over the summer, wanted him to commit, but he committed elsewhere, & he said we wouldn't take his commit. Now I got it, don't provide evidence but if you say it enough it's true. Appreciate the laugh. #TrumpTheMoron

No, I don't think people should be worried unless they really want to, then have at it.

But, the staff definitely needs to reevaluate how they go about picking up Defensive lineman.

There's really only one position Miami should struggle with recruiting given our recent history & that's QB. We literally haven't had a good QB with NFL success since Jim Kelly. But because Richt is the de facto QB coach he hasn't had any issues as far as recruiting that position.

Every other position shouldn't have to pull teeth just to land kids. Even if Kool lands Coburn & Chatman with Nesta which is a great haul, we still need to take a look at what we're doing & possibly consider a different approach.

We have one of the best DL coaches in the Nation & a lot of our recent success in the Richt era can be attributed to a new approach with how our DL's are used, it shouldn't be this difficult to pick up big time Lineman.

DT's are extremely difficult to evaluate, so it takes a fine tuning to really get the right guy, but I think going forward we need to take more of a scorched Earth approach & not be so rigid with what they may be looking at as a precursor to getting an offer.

Vinny and Bernie were good QB's who had good NFL Careers
I'm aware of that, but how many kids now do you think even know who they are or even watched them growing up?

My point was, we've had nothing but great players in the NFL at practically every position in recent history, so despite our lack of success in college we've shown this program can still put guys in the league. Over the last 15 years we haven't put anyone noteworthy at QB in the league.

Even so still Richt hasn't had any trouble recruiting QB's, we should have even less difficulty landing DL's considering we've put a bunch great DL's in the league the last 15 years.

Ok. I am glad you "clarified" your OR, cause I partied with BernieK (you may have 2, no joke..he IS a GREAT GUY) and F U if you think he wasn't a Great CFB QB. WTF you expect from going back home (loyal Guy to a fault) to the MistakeBL. **** on ANYTHING, ANYCANE U want, just leave BernieK the F out of it!

I can agree. Can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

If you can read, then the point I was making was clear, I didn't say anything disparaging about Bernie or anyone.

What I was saying is that, we don't have trouble recruiting QB's despite the fact we haven't put one in the league in a long time, we have however put a bunch of great DL's in the league in recent history, therefore we shouldn't have as much trouble as we do landing DT's.

When you're struggling to land prospects at a position of need as great as ours is, it's a concern. It isn't my job so I won't worry about it, but any criticism and talk about it is justified IMHO.

Yeah, I'm sorry man. Saw your original post, only naming JK (great guy 2) and caught CIS Fever, read but didn't comprehend anything else LOL. Understand and UP TILL NOW, got to agree on D side in general wu, BUT REREADING, completely AGREE tghat CMR1 a different QB game altogether.

Apologize again LCeL, but I'll defend The Real Deal Cane Player BernieK 4ever.

Juxtapose the DL talent (plus Golden commits) the staff inherited to what they have right now and that should answer your question.

This thread is very confusing. We shouldn't be worried about DL recruiting but Richt still needs to reevaluate what we're doing and make changes.

What's confusing about it?

We shouldn't be worried unless we miss on our 2 remaining targets, but even if we land them we should look at why it came to the point where we had to go out on a hope & a prayer to get 2 OOS kids at the last minute.

It shouldn't be this difficult to land DT's, we shouldn't have to wait until NSD & still be unsure who we're finishing with. Hence, even if we get those kids we need to take a look at we're doing so we're not scrambling again come this time next year.

Y'all can pretend all y'all but you know this is Golden-like DL recruiting. Expect us to sign like 2-3 JUCO/Grad transfers if we flop. Keep thinking we beating Clemson like that.

Havent seen the board this depressed since we lost the savior.....Keith Bryant, you remember the one we had to have.

It the fact we're losing multiple guys to FSU who basically had 2 months to recruit and just went 6-6 while we went 10-3. We've been saying win and they will come. We've finally won at a pretty high level and we're still losing 1v1 battles to them with a new coach.

The fact both UF and FSU were hot garbage and we still can't clean up the state IS A PROBLEM.

its not just recruiting You had DJ Johnson leave. Patachan cant stay healthy. Both our DT's leave when they really should have stayed.
garvin, ford, and dj johnson as considered a great haul last year. the year before that we got JJ, Bethal, Tyrec Martin (who Kul liked)
Its other things that factor in too. if i told you that Rj would leave because he was afraid to face double teams w/o norton you would probably laugh.

Peters prob dont have the grades for us and Briggs LOVED FSU for a long time.
