2018 DT recruiting

Havent seen the board this depressed since we lost the savior.....Keith Bryant, you remember the one we had to have.

It the fact we're losing multiple guys to FSU who basically had 2 months to recruit and just went 6-6 while we went 10-3. We've been saying win and they will come. We've finally won at a pretty high level and we're still losing 1v1 battles to them with a new coach.

The fact both UF and FSU were hot garbage and we still can't clean up the state IS A PROBLEM.

No it's not. We've never cleaned up the State and still won multiple NCs. Briggs, Goss, Samuel, Meadows, and Peters are irrelevant to Miami's future. What is relevant? How good we evaluate. How good we coach. Our future is extremely bright. Our DL coach turned 2 nobodies into NFL kids by their 3rd year - he was also FIRST on the scene for both Ford and Garvin, and Nesta. Our DB coach turned castoffs and nobodies into NFL prospects and NFL draft picks (Colbert and Jackson). Our HC turned a baseball player who never watched film into the QB of a team that was literally one game away from the playoffs. We beat FSU, VT, ND this year. Our team's future has never looked brighter. Stop trolling and appreciate it FFS.

This thread is very confusing. We shouldn't be worried about DL recruiting but Richt still needs to reevaluate what we're doing and make changes.
What's confusing about it?

We shouldn't be worried unless we miss on our 2 remaining targets, but even if we land them we should look at why it came to the point where we had to go out on a hope & a prayer to get 2 OOS kids at the last minute.

It shouldn't be this difficult to land DT's, we shouldn't have to wait until NSD & still be unsure who we're finishing with. Hence, even if we get those kids we need to take a look at we're doing so we're not scrambling again come this time next year.

Must be the part were everybody repeats themselves over and over...different days same ****. I've admitted to being a Rook, I've even admitted to liking s'mores every now and then (too bad, Ur Universe is sooo chiquito), but heaven forbid, U disagree with an "Elder". It really is so Lord of the Flies **** (ok, U don't read, google it).

Of ALL the schools constantly talked about here (U know the usual suspects), U would think that our students (they do), our Alumni (they do), our tri-county fanbase (they do, maybe, WPB still developing but gotta like Spring game, Homer, HALL...and CMR1 playing chess getting closer to the 407 w Lo, JC, and Clev) , the Rest of the Orange State (he crooting in J'ville, NFla, and freaking GA, come on some Spect is DUE!!) AND is expanding out to Tx , Cali and "anywhere someone wants to COMPETE for Ships AND become FAMILY."

BUT, CMR1 is primarily known as a O coach (label, but better SAT (never got chance to whack the ACT) O than D). Questions about our D crooting, Thus Far, especially compared to O, are REAL, if not justified in Ur all knowing worlds.

Chatman has an idea what he's talking about, fvckmouth. And Chatman said he couldn't commit to UM when he wanted to. I'll take his word over yours, fvckboy. Now, go back to skulking in the bushes and serial downvoting like the pvssy you are.

Best of luck to you kid. By the way, where is your quote we wouldn't take his commit at the beginning of the year when we were recruiting him heavily & we wouldn't take it? I'm guessing you won't provide. But you keep looking like an idiot.

Jesus Christ. Chatman himself stated that we didn’t have a spot for him over the summer (which is peculiar to me from our number POV, but that’s another matter). Whether it was Ivins or quotes from elsewhere, he stated it. Also discussed via Pete’s podcast... it’s not on Franchise to provide quotes when anyone on this board who cares about this program has read the same thing. This chit pathetic, way too many facquits to weed through now. Go canes.

So you're saying you don't have any evidence from when we were recruiting him heavily over the summer, wanted him to commit, but he committed elsewhere, & he said we wouldn't take his commit. Now I got it, don't provide evidence but if you say it enough it's true. Appreciate the laugh. Here you go #F_uckFace

Read the quote again. Wasn't related to the summer when Miami was recruiting him & wanted him as a part of the class when we were pushing for his commitment. The no room quote was from October/November. But I do appreciate the laugh from #TrumpTheMoron

Either read again with comprehension or not. He tried to commit in April, so before last summer, we didn’t have the room per quote. It’s clear you just wanna troll, so troll away, move your goalposts, I’ll keep it moving.

Best of luck to you kid. I understand though, you're a #TrumpTheMoron who can't figure out that no, he didn't try to commit in April, & then tried tpo later in the process. But you're cute & I appreciate the humor. We all enjoy a good laugh. I'm done, as there is no point in going back & forth with you while you have an issue w/actual reality. But again, I appreciate your sense of humor. Wasn't electing the laugh.

Actions over words. Remember that.

Chatman wasn't the number 1 or 2 target because he said he didn't have an offer that he could accept. If he was the number 1 or 2 guy, then he would have had an actual offer. He has an offer now clearly.
You type this almost daily and yet it never sinks in around here.

Nobody should be worrying about defensive recruiting unless you want to win the ACC.

DL recruiting to me see should be about sending out mass offers. There are only so many 6'1- 6'4 285 +guys on this earth

Premature to be worried. And the reason we’re in a panic mode bc the coaches didn’t believe both DTs would bolt to the NFL.

Regardless of the 2 DTs declaring early, only taking 1 DT last cycle in Ford was the mistake. Then you have some unexpected (should have been expected but that’s not the point) attrition and we’ll be relying on true freshmen for meaningful snaps.

Same thing with CB.

We left ourselves vulnerable and it’s already bit us in the *** and practice hasn’t even started yet.

Our defense was plenty good enough to win the ACC. Just ran out of steam with no bye weeks and down to 68 schollie players. This was an 11 win team, unless you're fool enough to think we would have lost to Arkansaw Tech or whatever.

briggs has been their plan a target the whole time along with nesta. I mean yall could keep moving the goalpost to make yourself feel better. But when son (briggs) said he was ready to commit to fsu...especially considering their season was a dumpster fire..he was dead to me. He kept um in play just in case fsu didnt ant him...keeping us as his fall back option.

Yes, but Briggs is clearly wanted more than Chatman right now.

But I do agree with you on your point. DT recruiting isn't as bad as people are making it seem. And if Tito Edenigbo can play 1tech DT, then we will have good DT play this year.

And we're in the final 2 for Coburn, which is pretty impressive since he was a long shot. We get him and Nesta this is an elite haul, idc what anyone says.

we have no idea who we want more in briggs or chatman.

we go off of retired pete and people on these boards, briggs is gone and that blows but the majority of the sane posters on here thought he was an FSU lean most the year until the final few weeks.

Chatman, Chatfield, Rousseau, and Nesta is an A-/B+ recruiting class for kool 100%. Doom and gloomers are morons if they think otherwise

if we lose chatman or chatfield then we're talking about a bad finish.

bruh seriously? we wanted briggs more than Chatman. That is incredibly obvious by the fact Chatman did NOT have a commitable offer. Obviously now that Briggs is gone to FSU (basically known all along) obviously Chatman is the top candidate for that spot. Coburn has an offer no matter what. and imo this dude Miller should have an offer whether or not we get Coburn.

You don't gotta tell me this will still be a good DL class. Nesta is absolutely an elite DT. Rousseau is going to be next in line after Joe Jackson and Jon Garvin. Now if we can also get Coburn, this DL haul is easily an A. Imo Chatfield doesn't really change grade much whether we get him or not, and Chatman is mostly a guy I want due to depth, but he looks like he's coming.

You have no idea what you're talking about. He had the offer, Miami coaches wanted him bad, he committed elsewhere. It's almost as if you haven't followed the timeline.

It’s become a facquit convention in here.

Taggart hawked Briggs & Chatman off a 6 win season. Kool is trash. Rumph is trash. Diaz is trash.

Agree 100%.

Kuligowski absolutely **** his pants. Again.

Where's Butch Davis again? FIU? Sounds like they got the better end of the deal. Their DL and defense will be outperforming ours very soon.

Very soon.

Total failure.
