Anthony Schwartz, American Heritage, Wide Receiver I'll take him over this kid . About the same height , he has game breaking speed than it helps with AH pipeline
I agree and It's time on from X. He'll be another cap casualty in a few years. That's not even hating; if ole buddy can't catch and Bama don't even want him as a WR, and if he still wants to go?? Then I'm fairly certain he'll be a cap casualty in two years.
A kid who has caught only 7 balls in his career you would take? Don't be fooled by the speed. Come on guys.
You can say what you want about Xavier but I find it insane anyone saying they'd take Schwartz over him or Austin or Thornton or even other WRs locally. Getting caught up in the speed game a little too much IMO. There is football players and then there is track kids... and then there is track kids who can play football. Maybe kid blows up this year and puts up insane numbers as a senior but I'm not counting on it from history that shown otherwise. He has a very bright future in track though, I just don't see it in football.
Generally speaking, I agree 100%. I'm not saying take Schwartz over the other kids, but imo, there are track kids and then there are elite track kids. Schwartz is on an Olympian type of trajectory with his times - that is quite different than a Daryl Jones type of track kid. You find room on your roster for kids like that.
But if he doesn't have good hands, and doesn't run decent routes, he's basically worthless. KO returns? Maybe. But I can't think of one elite track guy doing this that wasn't also at least a decent football player. Right now, he's not a football player.
