2017 RB Kyshaun Bryan Update -- Decommitted from USCe

IMO, Bryan has a low ceiling and a high floor. He is a one-cut-and-go runner who gets upfield in a hurry. His speed and burst are not a problem.

He's not a creative runner, which limits his upside, but he can get positive yards and fits with all the zone runs we call. If Brown doesn't trust his depth, I think it's a smart take.

One more thing- I don't believe in the "he's taking up a valuable scholly" argument. Clearly, we planned on taking two backs in this class. If we recruit better players in the future, he will go somewhere else to get carries. There are too many good players in South Florida to have depth issues. It's smart to bring in quality local guys to plug any unexpected holes.
You make good points. If you can promise me he'll be gone after two years if he stinks then I'm ready to sign off on your guy Bryan. I can't have any more roster cloggers.

DMoney providing good insight on this. At the end of the day is Gus really better than this kid? Maybe right now but after a year in S&C I'd take this guy any day over 5th year Gus.

Uses blockers, good vision, attacks the hole. Now, considering the OL class we are bringing in, I can see this kid being alright here.

Not a fan. He's not special and just looks boring on tape. Sucks that Bryan is a fall back for McFarland.

Low ceiling with a high floor sounds like a perfect signing day week flip to me. Y'all act like this kid is gonna carry the rock 25 times a game. He will add good depth for practice and is there in case of a catastrophe. Worst case scenario we take a gamble on a local kid from a national HS program for a spot we were going to use anyway. Who knows, maybe he's the goods? Matt Dayes was rated lower than this kid and he rewrote NCST rushing record book

We need the depth. Georgia the last three years has had starting running backs go down to injury, Gurley, Chubb and Sony. Holyfield also had an ankle injury this year. If Walton and/or Homer/Burns goes down we are screwed.

Offer the kid.

I prefer Malik Davis....just a personal preference. Let's steal him away from that dumper fire in Gainesville.

No kidding, but that ship has sailed I would guess.

If you're going grab someone late, you can't go wrong with an STA player. They're loaded each year and it'll help down the road with future recruits you would hope.

You would think it has sailed, but with so many jumping ship up there, it doesn't hurt looking into it. I think Davis is much more dynamic and has the breakaway speed we have been missing.

He was already willing to sit behind epstein so thats worrisome.

I went to about 4 st Thomas games this year... dude is average as ****... when he came out and Epstein went in all of a sudden explosive plays happen... he will never be more then a 4th qtr runner... if I was his dad I'd go somewhere else so I could play..

I think the chances are better than that. Its about Mark Pope.

Well said. I hate "saving" scholarships for guys you might get in the future. I would almost consider him our 3rd string RB next year. I don't think you can count on anything from Choc or Burns (though I hope I'm wrong).
