2017 RB Anthony McFarland Jr

Here's my question to some of ya'll calling him "good" but not elite; would u say that same thing if he was from So Fla?

It's nice, the campus is nice, and it's the first school that is actually teaching me life after football," McFarland said. "It was a good visit for me. It's not all about football down here. There's the academics, job opportunities here as well as the football."

"The coaches are cool, I like them all," McFarland said. "Coach Brown and coach Richt, I have a close relationship with them

Highlights of his time at UM:
I'd say looking at the academics and seeing all the players that came through Miami - they have a strong support system of alumni giving money back to the school."

McFarland is a good RB. He is not Special...quite overrated.

I think it's safe to say....the recruiting consensus says you definitely need more top rated players to win it all. Bama, OSU, FSU won championships with a good number of top rated talent. McFarland is the #2 apb in the nation, your assessment would be the equivalent of a Maryland fan calling Duke Johnson overrated.IMO

not the same...maybe its just because ive watched every game of Duke from the stands, but his highlights scream amazing while Mcfarland's scream elite. Duke also led a terrible team to a state championship game while Dematha is traditionally solid. Guess you can say the equivalent would be to call Cook over rated since he didn't start on his own team but was highly (rightfully) touted

Lots of highly-rated RBs haven't panned out across the country.

At Miami, Charlie Jones was the #4 RB in the country some years ago....he was....adequate....nothing more....during his years at Miami....

McFarland may be a difference maker, or he may not be....his ranking doesn't prove his ability....His ability proves his ability....

Idk about you, I just want him and Marcus Minor

I get it. You adore him. I think he is just a good little RB, not elite.

Burns **** sure ain't elite. You have no clue what elite looks like. You think cotman is better an no coach in the country would take him over McFarland.

Played against Charlie in High School. He was not as good as advertised. **** I went to college off my tape against him. It's crazy because I try not to be a start ***** but it's difficult when you see all the NC's littered with 4/5*.

Chill out. I don't have to agree with you. Burns will be a better player.

. I don't think anyone knows who will be the better until they produce on a college field. McFarland is #2 in the country that alone should enough for any Miami fan to appreciate. We need to go after top rated talent to compete at a high level year in and year out. I'd take both Burns and McFarland tell me what top team doesn't take multiple big time recruits on paper? Also, you haveta get a few from around the country to make up for the good ones you lose in sfla.......it's a fact top teams find talent everywhere. If, we continue to let other teams steal the top players settling for second best to fill a roster, ( like Golden did) we won't ever be completely back. You gotta land more top players it doesn't matter where they come from just bring them in. Sure sfla is the base with great talent, however it has become nearly impossible to get every "elite" player. Every top team in the country has flooded the area, til Miami wins the coastal look for that number to increase. We should win it this year only down side to that is it hasn't happened yet. If we do win it.... I'm sure there will be some flips, late additions etc....right now we don't have enough leverage to pull who we want. That said, if a highly rated kid like Mcfarland wants to be a Cane you take him on a heart beat.

So called #2 in the country does not mean sh*t to me. He is a good little RB, not special.
