I just checked again and the source is adamant that Miami does not speak to him.

What his pops said.

Coach Stacy Searels is in regular contact with Ealy.

"We have a good relationship with him," Andrew said. "He's a good guy. They are pushing to get him, pressing to get him hard."

Well that just isn't true. Not one bit.

I'm not trying to discredit Canesport, but I just don't want you guys to get your hopes up. Miami is not recruiting him at all. This seems like a ploy to get the family a free trip.

Well, the article has direct quotes from the fam. Dad says he is leaving the state for school whether it is Miami or not. Says Searles is in regular contact with him. Was supposed to visit last week but they are working to come up this weekend.

I appreciate your insights and input but I am hoping you are wrong and he is visiting and we do have a shot. Might just be wishful thinking but a man can hope!

**UPDATE**

I stand corrected. Pete, we shouldnt question you! They have already followed up the story after being questioned that he is a long shot and that they will check to see if the staff will even grant the official visit. LOL... pretty bogus article to begin with..

Why are we not after a 4* OL from LA Pete? Hopefully means we getting some local OL studs, huh?

Are they that confident in the recruits they're after?
Probably confident in Bateman from Gadsden City, AL

Hopefully the staff's confidence is in Herbert & Slaton, not the lineman from Alabama without offers from Bama or Auburn who camped at FSU & UF and didn't get an offer from either program. That describes a Golden-level recruit and we need to do better.

Or the kid who Jim Harbaugh was after?

Looks like Adrian Ealy will be coming for an official this weekend for the Duke game. Would like to have this beast in the class. He is also a EE so adding him will give us 4 offensive lineman enrolling early, that would be a big step toward improving that unit.

This isn't true. I just asked a source who said the staff doesn't even talk to Ealy anymore

So are they not high on him? Or does this speak to their confidence in other targets?

Or to drum up interest in other schools

Look at Alabama and Auburn's OL commits and that'll tell you why he doesn't have one. Let's be real.. we're neither one of those schools as far as OL talent and recruiting the OL. We need anyone with a pulse and a shot in **** of playing.

Can't just land Slaton or Herbert or Telfort because we say so. Gotta get that bag game strong for all 3 of them and it's not happening. We're going to recruit like an 8-4 team until we get over the hump and win some big games

Sounds like when some were trying to defend Michael Jackson, another player from Alabama without Bama/Auburn interest, by saying he had a Clemson offer.
