2015 RBs with offers and some locals without

Patrick has insane speed and acceleration for a big back. His strides are very long so DBs misjudge his speed and he eliminates their pursuit angles by exploding upfield. That skill will translate if he has clear lanes to run through in college. Biggest problem I see with him is he has to slow his momentum a lot to make lateral cuts, but that's not surprising given his height, speed and the laws of physics.

Clearly he has a ton of upside and is a big-3 caliber athlete. Not fully sure about his projection beyond that though because his highlights are filled with wildcat passes and uncontested runs. Anyone seen him live?

I do think cronkrite was asked to come back to another camp after after he left one of goldens previous camps without an offer not sure though, but to those who aren't high on him you honestly have to see him play before you can judge him. The kid is a beast.

The biggest knock I have for Scarlett and people who have seen complete games of him is that he tips through the hole as if he's scared. It's been pointed out by countless coaches.

I don't think my note 3 wants me to see Cronkite ' s film it freezes at the 45 second mark.... I will say though those 45 seconds looks waaaaaaaaaay better than that playoff highlight that I saw last month. I still want to see the rest of the film. What are you guys take on T.J Simmons boys is fast ran a 10.5 on the track this year in the 100.

Ronald Jones II, a four-star RB from Texas whose current offer list includes Alabama, Oklahoma, Baylor, Clemson, and Michigan, has been offered by Miami.

Cronkite looks real good. and is a priority by our staff. so, just b/c you don't like him, doesn't mean you can just omit him from likely being in the class.

His film looked good, but I don't know if it jumped out at me as elite. That might be all that's out there for us given the small number of elite RBs. How often do you have a Sony, Yearby and Cook all from the same area? Maybe a four star, but not a five star. We need bigger RBs, not that he is that big, but bigger than some of the other guys we already have.

Per Rivals' Mike Farrell...

@rivalsmike: I think #TAMU #Michigan and #Miami are three schools to watch for RB Ronald Jones II early on

Auburn and A&M have offered Jones this week.

WOW did not see this coming

"Wow" is **** right. This kids film was amazing,i didn't think we had a chance.

Interestingly enough...

@sbn_wescott: No idea why Texas hasn't extended an offer to Ronald Jones II. Seems kind of inexplicable at this point.

Turns out we're not the only big-time program that has drawn criticism for being late to offer studs from our own backyard. Big mistake by the Longhorns.

Also, USC is the latest school to offer Jones.

no mention of Baylor & Oklahoma despite everyone predicting him to those 2 on 247

If we land Jones I'll be thrilled with rb class,no matter who else we get. Kid is elite

Bump.

I think I've grown a lot as an evaluator and lost a lot of the arrogance that clouded some of my evaluations in the past, but this is a fun thread to read through now that these backs are coming into their own and many posters were proven correct.

Ozigbo just went 17/170/2 and has taken over the starting RB job at Nebraska over Greg Bell (#1 JUCO recruit). I think he would've been a very useful player for Miami considering how much the team has struggled with short-yardage running in recent years. Not sure what happened with his recruitment. Miami ended up with only Walton in that class smh.

Dexter Williams just had his breakout game for ND. 21/161/1 against Stanford.

Cronkrite is finally emerging with back to back strong games for USF.

Scarlett and Patrick are below-average college backs which is only a mild surprise given their deficiencies on film and the trashcan programs they signed with.

Damien Harris and Ronald Jones were probably the best options but neither had much interest.

The year Golden lost 3 RB commits when Walton graduated early. LOL

I always like Williams out of the four we were going after with Walton as a great 3rd down back who was forced to be an every-down back.

And look at me over there caping for Cronkite! LOL.

If anyone would have told me Scarlett would have been this big of a bust I would have laughed at you and told you to GTFOH. Yeah hes stiff but there have been numerous RBs who have been good in college who are stiff. Not talking NFL here. Just college. This guy is decent at best.

He might have maxed out too early in his development as well. All the other kids caught up to him develop wise when he was looking like a college RB physically his freshmen year at University School.
