2015 RBs with offers and some locals without

Ozigbo>those Florida backs you all obsess over. Watch the film and deal with it.

I watched the film. Definitely don't agree with your opinion. If he played in south Florida he would be going to UCF imo. And when NO Texas schools offer him, I'm concerned.

i think dexter williams will be rated much higher after his senior season...kid is just straight up fast

While neither of Cronkrite or Scarlett are on Yearby's overall talent level imo, I do think they are very good and their size is complementary to Yearby's game.

I'm not big on cronkite I wasn't impressed but the piece of tape I seen of him was like a min long and a playoff game to be fair

He has no standout traits and I counted 3 plays in his highlights where he got his momentum stopped and spun around by weak arm tackles. His averageness reminds me of Graig Cooper.

Then what are your thoughts on Scarlett?

Are you asking both of us, me, or Highseas

I like Simmons Patrick and scarlet be stubborn Al and take three RB's

Not high on Patrick, but since Cronkrite is virtually ours and he's not on your list...

We have to get out of the "Al Golden" way of thinking. If this was last year, Al probably would have told Cronkite to come to a camp and prove himself. Cronkite would have told him to F off in so many words and that could have caused a negative domino effect that would have ended with us losing Irvin, JJohnson, and god knows who else. Not worth it. The kid isnt a scrub. Is he Yearby, DCook, Sony, ACollins? No. But he is solid enough to receive an offer especially considering he is tied to so many other recruits. Al is learning to play the game. And I like it.

Ok I agree with everything you've assessed right now..... I'm just saying I didn't get blown away from the little piece of film I've seen. I've seen the other three "highlights" and Simmons in person why I have my opinion. It could change once I see an actual tape of Cronkite.

Papii I see Gus as our Asian Foster Devine & Gus has similar running styles.... Devine seems more tougher & agressive running through tackles & Gus is more elusive and agile just goes down to easily right now

Cronkrite has offers from every big school in the southeast up to Ohio State, ND and even Oregon gave him an offer. He may not be a 5-star elite like Yearby, Cook or Sony, but he's still **** good in his own right.

I'd love to have him and Dexter Williams in this class.

Cronkrite's highights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/492077/highlights/96821375

He definitely isn't rated a 5 star as those other guys but has as many carries in his HS career that Cook or Collins had as a senior so he doesn't have as much film as most but listen to what his coach, who knows a little about being a RB, has to say about his game.

I'll take the 4 star who is relentless and has a huge chip on his shoulder because everyone says he isn't as good as these other guys over most.

As you alluded to, he's just scratching the surface of what he can become as a running back with such a limited sample size to evaluate (only 161 carries in the last two seasons). That's roughly 300 fewer carries than Patrick and 135 fewer than Scarlett/Ozigbo over that same time span.

He's a consensus four-star with a bunch of offers from top-shelf programs who's highly motivated, extremely athletic, and has a ton of upside. I feel like some are really underrating the player he is currently and underestimating the distinct possibility that he'll be even more highly regarded at this time next year assuming he sees a more extensive workload this season.

I couldn't be happier that one of the two RB spots we're looking to fill is expected to be used on Cronkrite.

I said the same thing... I saw a little bit of Devine highlights about to finish watching nice film so far but I don't think he's gonna improve @ the next level.... looks like Mack and Malcolm brown to me and being from Texas is he maxed out is the question

I do think he's mostly maxed out, but that's fine considering he's listed around 215 lbs. and was dragging tacklers all over the place in his highlights. Malcolm Brown is a fair comparison for him although Brown is more of an easy/fluid mover while Ozigbo runs with more power. Mack Brown (the Florida one) is a bit insulting as a comparison imo cause he has poor vision, is even stiffer than Ozigbo and just generally sucks as we saw when they played us.

Then what are your thoughts on Scarlett?

Have him rated about the same as Ozigbo (5.8 4*) but I just prefer Ozigbo's skillset. The trade-off between them is quick feet (Scarlett) for strength and balance (Ozigbo). Scarlett will produce more chunk plays but Ozigbo can provide more consistent positive yardage. Watch Scarlett's film and you'll see sudden cuts that Ozigbo definitely can't make, but you'll also see him taken down by arm tackles that Ozigbo would probably bust through. Otherwise they seem fairly similar in terms of acceleration, long speed, receiving ability, etc.

What's your take on Ozigbo? I respect your opinion on kids so I'm curious.

This Florida crop isn't as good as last years, but I'm not impressed with Ozigbo. He seems to lack suddenness to me. Fluid and coordinated, but no twitch.

I'm also weary about guys who are over-reliant on breaking tackles at the high school level. A lot of the long runs in Ozigbo's highlights are 3-4 yard runs at the college level.

I appreciate the respect and positivity but make sure to always read my posts with a critical eye (like you did just now)...I know how to evaluate but I have limited resources for scouting HS kids compared to NFL prospects. Unfortunately there's no draftbreakdown.com for recruiting and I don't get to see kids live either. Also the tone of that particular post was intended to bait reactions (trolling), but unlike most trolls I do support my claims when pressed.

With Ozigbo I don't think he should be that highly rated (5.8 4* maybe) but I just love his skillset for Miami - a personal preference type of deal. He's got a thick lower body with the balance and leg drive to push piles and power through contact. He looks like a capable receiving outlet and that powerful lower-half could be a major asset in pass pro. Obviously he lacks sudden foot quickness and elusiveness but he can still make functional cuts with decisiveness - no dancing behind the line or in space.

I project him as a prototypical inside power back who can reliably grind out tough yards, convert short-yardage situations and provide value on 3rd downs. I think Stepfan Taylor is a fair comparison for him, or Mike Tolbert if he really bulks up in college. Pair him with an explosive back that has the twitch you're looking for and you have a quality 1-2 punch. I prefer having backs with diverse and clearly-defined roles rather than a single feature back.
