with this type of scheme we are running the DTs dont really have to do that much, all they have to do is engage linemen, as long as they do their job and the LBs actually make tackles and not watch kids run by them we SHOULD be better next year with perryman, figs, and kirby out there (all of them should have been our starting LBs)

It is depressing. We were top 30, even when our talent started to fall, because defense at Miami doesn't have to be rocket science. It should be simple stuff.

Top-10 in the ACC... FSU, Virginia Tech and maybe a couple of other schools finishing ahead of us is understandable but finishing at the bottom is inexcusable...

Golden design. Make the defense as ****** as possible so you will beg for a top 30 defense. Did it at UVA as well.

From 1999-2010 we had 2 defenses that were ranked worse than 30.

2000-30th ranked (5th in scoring however) and in 2007-33rd ranked (52nd scoring).

In Golden's three years at Miami thus far he hasn't had a defense ranked better than 45. Talk about lowering the standards.
