At some point those guys have to play, right?

Barrow? Powell? Baron first half of season, Alston was giving is good play until his injury.

Players arent perfect, but all these guys have given us some good play. Powell pick 6 was huge yesteday. Even Sam Brown was big in Louisville game.
 
I’m a believer we will close strong until given reason not to be.

Also very focused on portal as well. Hopefully we decrease the # of “fillers” this cycle. And please, for the love of Christ, no more G5 IDL and/or Vandy DBs. The wallet should be bigger after *knock on wood* an ACC ring, right? Prove it.

Powell is pretty average (not as bad as Harris, but just too slow…Makes plays at time and is cerebral.

But overall the portal class is good

Our best player and maybe the top QB in the country
A clearly above average starting RB
A serviceable #4 WR
A top 12-15 DT in the country
Barron yes has tailed off and maybe a head case, but we are def better with him than without.

A serviceable LB, probably not a starter
Two decent backup LB

An average starting safety

Portal was a definite success this year for sure.

I heard they’re aiming to take another 7-10 with a few being multi year kids. Land another top QB and some secondary help and we should be fine. Got a lot of $ tied up in Barron and Brown which was an L. Everyone else who got big money has performed IMO. Evaluations need to be better across the board I agree

Hs ranking matter if you can contribute right away like a cici. If you can't contribute right away you need a instant impact guy from the portal. We havent done great in the portal under Mario. Hopefully that changes. If we can get some of the guys that Manny got in the portal we will be okay.

Brown has had some really good YAC yards breaking tackles lately. Tough yards after there were some effort questions

Definitely been a solid edition though no clue what the NIL was

Too much for his impact imo, but we needed to overpay last cycle. Might be better less this one. Barron definitely made out like a bandit

Honestly I think Martinez is an incredibly good RB, we just don't scheme him into space enough.

Every time he's caught a check down you can see the DB making a business decision. Running it between the tackles with Martinez guarantees you a 1st down on that 3rd and short run, but I feel like he'd be ripping 20+ yard runs if you got him to the edge.
