Curious who do you guys think we close on?

Where do certain targets go if not Miami?

And lastly, where do we finish (for now, until February is finalized)?

For frame of reference, as of today:

12th-ranked class at 249.34, 23 commits

13th in average rating per recruit at 89.96

Miami will finish outside the top 13
Would be unacceptable and inexcusable in Year 3. Top 10 is like the bare minimum standard.

About to go play with the class calculator and see what happens.

Teams I do expect to push hard with the close: Auburn, Michigan, Florida.

Teams we should as fans expect to pass: USC, Tennessee. Maybe LSU but that might come down to Pickett.

I don't think we get any of the Florida legacies.

We might flip the two guys from OSU and the guy from LSU.

Top 10.

Well 1murhurricane did mention yesterday that miami turned down some kids that would have landed us in the 5-7 range because they thought they could get better ROI in the portal.Dmoney has also said they are going after younger portal targets with multiple years to play. We'll see how this plays out soon.

This is what I said in another thread. "Here's what nobody wants to hear. Mario aint a top 1-3 recruiter. Hes a top 5-8 at his best and 9-12 if some players fall through the crack. The sky isn't falling and this is just one of those classes. He rebounds for a big 2026 IMO."

What do you guys think? Am I an idiot with that assessment?

Somewhere between 8-10 which isnt good enough. I think we'll do well in the portal again though
As long as the portal evaluations are better, that’s fine with me. Spend money on stable commodities rather than unproven kids.

Ward obviously a beast. Martinez good get. Carpenter is good enough.

Everyone else - wasn’t worth whatever they got.

We all know Mario likes to take his sweet time on everything and in years past NSD was well after the season ended,he was all in on recruiting ,now he has to close on this class and prepare for elimination game(s).Can only imagine how stressed he must be.

Do we know what people got paid?

Besides Hill and Richards, who are objectively just poor football players (Richards might be a S playing CB, but even so he never shone), I thought the transfer class was pretty good.

Ward, Martinez, Carpenter, Barrow and Brown are good players. Baron has tailed off massively, but got us through the early part of the schedule. Alston was good pre-injury. Powell has had some very timely turnovers.
