1-on-1 Highlights from Day 9 of Spring Practice (March 28)

-Stan Dobard is a player, knows how to get separation consistently
-O'Donnell looks like Ivan Mercer is back at UM, which is not a bad thing
-Deon Bush's body language is lazy to me, but this is just a video
-Stacy Coley may be the best receiver to ever grace this university, will his surrounding cast help elevate him there, IDK
-This is the most talented team at Miami in 7 years, with more tbreds coming in July
-DMauri Jones is legit, and a big part of it may be he has the best chemistry with Williams
-Dorsett is a top 3 round pick, what acceleration that kid has
-Jamal carter might as well play shirtless, aint nobody taking that black jersey from him
-Williams will make us pull our hair out this year, but Ryan, just be great on 3rd and redzone and you can make up for lots of misses that are coming
-Dont know why, but Jethro' scared of Hertolou, hope its a good thing, and I think Hert is starting to find his groove
-havent looked at LB physically llike we do now for a minute , especially Denzel and Kirby
-we gon be good

-

It's a good point. How many drives did we manhandle the defense and then completely stall out in the RZ? Blame it on playcalling, blame it on Morris not being comfortable making reads in those tighter spaces....whatever it was. We cost ourselves all kinds of points.

Who the heck is 88?

O'Donnell??

Yes that is Jake O'Donnell. He has had quite a spring along with DJones. We all need to take everything with a grain of salt talking about Bush and Tracy getting burned. Some drills they are supposed to let the offensive guy win or go half speed etc. Or this is just a small sample size of practice. If this happens in the scrimmage then I would be alarmed.

Yeah the results aren't so much what I am looking at as much as just looking at how athletic they look. O'Donnell looks big and fluid. Surprising. Standish looks like he has come a long way as well.

I agree. The staff definitely made the right call moving him from D to O. He'll definitely get some playing time with Dobard once Walford and Sandland leave.

Getting Hertelou in January was huge as well. He seems to be doing well.

how is it that all of a sudden our TE's look incredible in practice? Did they all just turn the corner? Or was Morris that bad at finding them?

Bush and that CB in the yellow jersey were getting worked on

Bush always struggled in coverage... He's a head hunter... Once he gets that down he'll be legit... Too be fair, his freshman year reminded me of a faster Ray Ray... He never shied away from contact but he was quite suspect on coverage... Last year he was hurt, hopefully he takes the next step this year.

I am so pump for this year and what we have going right now. we look like a good team, not just a team with sprinkles of bright spots. Jamal Carter is beasting, taking advantage of an opportunity he probably wouldn't have gotten. He has that Ole Canes, Hit you in your mouth and you better not say **** type of attitude. Stacy is just Unbelievable, wish we had 1 more guy like him. he will get double teamed alot this year and that my benefit the Tight Ends and others for sure. Really wish we had Yearby practicing this spring. Gus has been stepping up but we need a dynamic playmaker like duke caliber. Proud of Gus though by owning it , right now. Lb's are the best we had in a while. the last 6 years we have had 1 guy thats consistent at LB it was Sean Spence and Now Denzel is that one guy. but Kirby looks like he finally getting it and playing with Perryman and Fig's attitude. Perryman coming back was the most important thing to ever happen to this team. D-Line needs to improve. no one has stood out at all at the DT postion. hopefully Wyche can save us in that aspect. All in All im ready for the Spring Game April 12th and praying for healthy Canes all the way till September! :stormwarning: :neonu:

Dorsett will not be drafted in the first 3 rounds. The highest he will likely go is 5th round and thats if he runs a great 40 which he should. A similar wr to him is goodwin from texas who had the fastest 40 at the combine last year and the bills took him in the 5th or 6th. Dorsett is prolly a 4th wr in the nfl.

Those one on ones show just how slow Beau Sandland is. He seems to be able to get separation until he goes into his break, then its like he has to downshift twice to go into his break then struggles to speed up. That's exactly what Ive seen from him during games.

That would be like having 2 Sammy Watkins. He may be the best receiver in the country. Last year as a true freshman he was the only player in the country to score rushing, receiving, kick and punt return...

impossible to have 2 guys like that at the same time. He may be the best receiver in the country. Last year as a true freshman he was the only player in the country to score rushing, receiving, kick and punt return...

I understand what your saying but i mean its hard to say that its impossible. you have great 1-2 punches in college like Deandre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins or Lsu's Odell Beckham jr and Jarvis Landry. i mean one will be better than the other. after Stacy we have drop off in pure superstar talent. thats all i was saying. I believe Rashawn Scott can honestly be that guy if he gets his act together like he does now.

Bush and Carter will make us so much better Also where has Rayshawn Jenkins been is he hurt or just not showing up in the vids

I c what youre saying. I was just saying Stacy is like Andre Johnson. Even at Miami with all the talent right in the area, you only get a guy like Coley or AJ every 10-15 years. A truly transcendent WR. Dorsett or Scott can fill that secondary role as good as Landry or Hopkins.

how is it that all of a sudden our TE's look incredible in practice? Did they all just turn the corner? Or was Morris that bad at finding them?

All you have to do is go back and look at last years games. Our TEs were open all the time, they just aren't normally the first option. No knock on Morris, but he rarely check down to the TEs or even the RBs at all.

Part of it but at the same time last year O'Donnell was bouncing around gaining weight, Dobard was a babysoft freshman, and Sandland had further to go than anyone thought. One year has made a big difference for the group.

never saw that kid goodwin play but dorsett has football speed, he will be catching deep balls in the nfl regularly

Bills drafted Goodwin 78th overall, 3rd round.

You both swept the leg AND put him in a bodybag. With his unfounded declarations, poor logic, and even worse fact checking, 252 would be a perfect hire for ESPN.

Agreed and I hope I'm wrong cause we could need a 2nd or 3rd round pick at WR. He doesn't have the speed in and out of his breaks, plus he has shown time in again that isn't as fast with the ball in his hands. Just check the film.
