What do you guys think? Should we be taking less 3 point shots and attack the basket which should yield us some more points rather than chucking up bricks?

I don't get it. How can a team be so collectively bad at something as easy as free throws?

It was ignored in the recruiting process. That's one of those in-game events that doesn't change from high school to college.

Dude you know nothing about basketball if you think this is true.

The line is the same distance from the net and there is no one defending you, ever. If you're terrible at shooting free throws in high school, you're a terrible free throw shooter. The event is the same at both levels.

Ever heard of practice? You can't be this dumb.

You're missing the point. If a kid struggles to hit a college curve ball, you have patience because he is seeing better curve balls than he saw in high school. Shooting a free throw, though, isn't any different. If you couldn't do that in high school, then you just suck at it. Literally everything about the skill is the same as it was at the previous level.

If your solution is "practice", why don't terrible free throw shooters get demonstrably better? Why don't we "practice" them?

It's a skill that you either have or you don't. Like someone said, half the guys here could go 7-for-10 right now without warming up.

Clearly you know nothing about the game of basketball. Pretty obvious. I'm not going to explain it to you

Larranaga has had a nice run but the way his 2018 recruiting is shaping up, this guy is going to be out of a job in the next year

How does anyone seriously respond to these posts?

The only thing I can think is you have some weird obsession with him.

Well, you could respond like an adult. What is it about the program that you like right now? Are we getting closer to competing for a championship? Or are we accepting that we will "never be Duke"?

Yep, that’s exactly how it goes. Vegas knows all. Embrace it.

Sad thing is, I don't think you're kidding.

Not even a little bit.

Good, now I know you don't know anything about gambling. Tourists lean on favorites, like you did. That's why Vegas builds another billion dollar casino every six months.

Thanks for the chuckle. 50/50 action is the goal. I forgot more about gambling then you’ll ever know.

When someone posts that, the only answer is that they have no idea how to respond to my point. Happens pretty regularly.

Be an adult. I didn't insult anyone. Yet here you are throwing daggers while not being able to refute anything I wrote.

If it's a skill that we can "practice", who's losing their job over the inability to help anyone get better?

Actually, the 50/50 thing is another thing that the tourists believe. The goal is to not be exposed, which is a **** of a lot more complex than "let's get equal money on both sides". They have to consider sharp action. Sharps would destroy the books if it was as simple as "50/50". You're talking like a true novice.

Throw a challenge out there and let's see if I know anything about gambling.

You’re right Jagr. My bad. Have a good one. For the record I paid 4 years of college betting sports. That’s good enough for me.

There's nothing to say lmao. You think you can't get better at free throw shooting. You're not going to understand any explanation I give to you.

Probably one of the stupidest things I've ever read on this board.

That's it? I retired at 27 by gambling. And I married a supermodel. Every claim on the internet is true.

An individual guy can get marginally better. But if you can't hit a free throw as a blue chip basketball recruit, then you can't shoot free throws. It really is that simple.

If your claim is true, why are we among the worst in the nation? Did we ignore it in the offseason? If practice really works on this particular skill, why aren't we getting better? You can't answer any of this.

FYI, someone on this board calling something stupid is all I need to verify that I am absolutely right.
