0:45 of this video - WTF I HATE THIS DEFENSE

If the shoe fits, ya'll can wear it. I'll be at Louisville while you're at home bytching at Golden thru your TV sets and on here.

You don't like it? Show up to Louisville if you can. If not, show up to some home games instead of being another empty seat at Sun Life.

Until then...GFY. I make no excuses for actually going to the games, giving to the Hurricane Club, or supporting the program in general. I have gripes like everyone else, but at least I'm not some insufferable fairweather **** like you guys.

you're a moron for paying good money for a terrible product that the school has had plenty of evidence of ****iness yet done nothing. one of the only ways we can make our displeasure known as a fan is to STOP spending money on the team (e.g. going to games)

You don't think attendance has any effect on recruiting, which directly affects the product?

you dont think the PATHETIC defense and results on the field have an effect on recruiting?

I hear recruit after recruit, including some of the top ones, citing specifically the fact that they see Miami on the rise. Funny how some "fans" can't see it.

Yeah man, we're really on the rise, so much so that Dalvin Cook, Sony Michel, Travis Rudolph, Matthew Thomas, etc. couldn't wait to ink the papers to play for Al and Co.

When we lost Alex Collins, it was the first time Golden had lost a big-time battle. Since then, the amount of elite prospects we're after, particularly those in the soFla area, has risen drastically.

That's because we haven't improved and aren't on the rise. You can't get them all, but if we had shown improvement the way so many apologists seem to suggest, the amount of defections wouldn't be what it has been.

We have talent at the DL for this time in 7 or 8 years

We have real talent, though thin, at LB for the first time in 7 or 8 years

We have the best stable of DB's we have had here in a decade.

Coach D will show us who he is this year. Good? Great. Bad? GTFO.

I really believe that Golden will be more involved in the defense this year. I think before he was like D'NO its your job and i wont be an interruption now he like D'NO you about to get me fired so im going to help out more.

It's Golden's abomination of a scheme. Doesn't matter if he's more involved or not.

As long as we're employing this defensive philosophy, we're going to underachieve given the personnel we employ. He's trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Of course not. You know that a kid looks on TV and says they want to play at Sun Life in front of BigTip and weownfsu parading as empty seats because the parking there is too expensive.

Shut up you cot **** moron. How many home games did you attend last year?
Coming all the way down from Virginia? 1. Went to the Florida game. Drank my *** off at the tailgate, yelled my ******* head off at the game. Hard for me to make home games on a regular basis all the way from up here. It's either a 14-15 hour drive or an expensive *** flight...so remind me how close YOU live again?

Went to Duke as well. Had plans for both UNC and Pitt, but work constraints knocked me out of going. Sold those tix to Canes fans.

Going to Louisville, GT, VT, and UVA this year. Probably won't come across you at all (again, thank god).

Any other questions before you tell me to shut up again? ******* idiot...

How many Duke games did you attend, BlueDevilHoyaCanePantherWahooTrojanBiscuitsAndGravy?

Then find another team, because that's not what a fan does.

Can you please list the things that fans do, TIA.

A) They don't act like morons and attack their own team.

B) They don't stop supporting their team.

Hey! Genius!

No one is attacking the team!

We're puked out with the coaching! Get it? Coaching!

We're better fans of the team than you - who appears to be completely satisfied with these retards and their retarded coaching.

You a team fan? Then pull your head out of your butt, and you won't be able to chew your food twice!

Coaching! Suks!

I get what you're saying but you only named one defensive player. The rest were all offensive players. Duke and Coley are the star players of our offense and both had arguably the best stats for a freshmen at the U for their respective position.

We definitely weren't fielding some terrible offense. They had a chance to be on one of the most dynamic offenses in all of college football. Maybe not consistent, but definitely explosive. I don't think our defense's performance impacted their decision (aside from Matt Thomas).

Mark's way of creating "confusion"............:ohlord:

2nd and 10. Lville on their 38. 1st quarter of a game that we are up 2 to 0...and our DB is lined up at the 1st down marker!?!

Then drops 6 yards deeper?!!? Bridgewater probably still laughing about that one!

We're complaining because a guy completed a ten yard out? would you prefer a bump and run 60 yard touchdown instead? because that's "miami defense".. gtfoh...

Laughable. So, the only 2 options on that play are to play conservatively 10 yards off the ball or give up a 60 yard TD?

The slurping is unreal these days - almost as bad as C0cker's days.

Agree a lot of heads here think AG is God in the recruiting front but for me the misses are too big to overcome. This is Miami he should get the elite kids to stay home period, we want to be at the elite level get the elite players. Can we be good? Yea
But this is Miami, we are suppose to get the elite sfla kids and be fkin elite. *** that we are a good team bullshyt. Fsu recruited elite and wiped us out in our territory where they have no business doing and it brought them acc titles and a eventual title. We should be using there same formula.

firstly i like Chick, but if anyone's excited for him to be our best end, you shouldn't.

second, with the way offenses operate nowadays having 3 unathletic lineman and 3 unathletic linebackers(1 jack who can chase the qb but everyone knows hes coming, and if hes not its a safety from ten yards deep that you dont gotta worry about cause the ball will be long gone) chasing these playmakers around the field asking DB's to lock down their receiver till the QB dies of old age is not gonna cut it.

less unathletic safety cones and more playmakers, if you want four linebackers on the field being asked to cover the new super athlete h back, then they gotta be safety/backer hybrids.

Yep. All of our players are less athletic than the teams that are destroying us like Duke and Vag Tech and all the other bastions of athleticism like UVA.

well we are for sure less athletic than VT from a personnel standpoint, but i was talking about our scheme relying not on athletic playmakers (which is what south florida talent is all about) but on bigger and slower players and a more complicated scheme that slos the players down further, which would be fine at a penn state but it doesn't jive here.

The UL game to me was a bit of a throwaway because (blame whoever) the players didn't seem that interested--and I doubt they were interested in the month prior.

More troubling (probably most troubling) is the lack of improvement through the year. That's a tough one to explain away if you choose to be optimistic. If youth was the issue, we should've gotten better. If talent was the issue, we should've integrated the more talented guys early (McCord, AQM, Kirby, Kamalu, Carter, and so forth). If the new guys weren't smart enough, there's no reason to believe that the new "talent" will be ready before 2016.

It's a tough one to reason around. You're left with about one reach-y explanation.

Everyone knows that the strength of Tracy Howard in high school was playing way off of the receivers, using zero tenacity and physicality, and dumping into a zone on each play.

Duh.

This D is about giving the opponent yards, and hoping for a turnover because the offense made a mistake.

I agree that the players were disinterested. But for a team that hadn't been to a bowl game in a couple years to quit like they did is a blaring indictment of the man running the show.

Painfully obvious that most people on this board don't understand defensive scheme.

We were AWFUL last year on D. We were exposed by every competent offense we faced.

However, if you think that it was a scheme problem, I ask you to look at Coach D's defenses at Temple.

We were trying to keep it close, force teams to execute and hope we got breaks. Our personnel sucked and we had a coordinator who over did the conservatism because he was terrified.

You CAN'T DO SHI* without a DL. You cannot. We have had garbage on the DL for going on 6 years. Finally, we have some experienced talent.

Do I think Coach D is excellent? No. Do I think he was too conservative last year? **** yes. Will I bail on him if we see the same stuff this year? Yes. But I need to see a DL with at least a pulse before I judge too harshly.

anyone who thinks that the schemes we are running are putting us in a good position to win is an idiot. painfully obvious that we are beaten before the snap on 4 outa 5 plays on defense.
Don't you know al golden is the first coach to ever have to deal with players that aren't all five stars. How can we expect golden to field a top 70 ranked defense without five star players. It's simply asking too much of him and Dorito.

My point is this:

We have talent at the DL for this time in 7 or 8 years

We have real talent, though thin, at LB for the first time in 7 or 8 years

Only thing I hate more than our defensive coordinator is these relentless threads about our defensive coordinator

Holy ****, dude. I can't keep reading your emotional "I swear I'm a super fan" essay every time you get called out for being a Duke fan. You really have no idea how many home games I go to. You're just whining like a little girl because somebody called you out for being a Duke fan. Drop your super fan act and stop attacking other posters as "fake fans" and maybe you wouldn't have to write essays as long as War and Peace all the time.
Keep my (screen) name out your mouth, then. If you don't care, and you don't want to read it, then don't bring it up like you did. It's not like people don't know that I've rooted for Duke's basketball team in my past. I've never hidden it.

However, I'm no "Duke fan". I respect their school, I respect their basketball team. I like Durham as a city. That's about as far as any of that goes. I am a Cane. You've got no room to question that from the comfort of your La-Z-Boy.

Oh--and I'm only a "superfan" as you call it compared to you, seeing as how you won't talk about how many games you go to, and how close you are to the stadium to be able to go. It's OK. The message is loud and clear: the number of games you go to, though you can, is much like what you are: Zero. I'll shoot you some PayPal bucks if you need the cash for parking, since that's a major obstacle...apparently.

You do realize how dumb it is for you to attack me at every turn for not going to a home game 905 miles away from me, when you're likely less than 50 miles from the stadium, right? It's downright 'tarded on your part. Especially when I go, normally, to multiple away games every year.
