they are good
but scourton and harmon are much better
imagine this defense with those two instead with caleb downs instead of mish
and cam throwing to evan stewart
it was all there for us
Downs would've been ridiculous but I don't think he was in our price range considering the numbers being reported around OSU. A couple big years here and we might be sitting at that elite table from the NIL perspective.

If your name is not mentioned in the bank recruiting breakdown and don't have good senior film, its not a good sign for your ability to remain in the class. Can't say you haven't been warned.

Season 3 Leave GIF by Martin

The chances of landing the top player in the portal at 6 positions isn't realistic. There are other teams making big offers
To not go after the vt qb would be stupid . Watching them play tonight imo they’re the best team we play on our schedule. Those other losses because teams played them before they was clicking . They’re a real good team team , watch I expect them to win out

Just busting your balls. My point though is it’s like free agency and salary cap and they have to manage the roster and won’t always get the top guys we want.

The marginal difference is too small to worry about. I’m not saying to outbid everyone all the time. We should be credible enough by now to match and not have to pay the suck tax any more though. Winning is everything.

This year recruiting has been severely underwhelming, given the fact we are 6-0. I thought it would really take off.

Seems like we were in it for a lot more elite guys last 2 years. Looks like we’re headed for a borderline top 15 class… yikes.

This is a much better class right now than what we had last year at this time though. We went on a huge run after we flipped Scott in late November.

This entire class was locked up pretty much before the season started, so will be interesting who flips based off how our season is going in these next 2 months

Also to those talking about being disappointed about the wins not translating to bigger wins of the recruiting trail, as long as we keep winning those will come. We have to actually finish the season strong, which I believe we will, for that to happen.

It's time to move on from the "if we win, they will come" false myth.

The reality is that EVERY program is going to have as many as 20 additional scholarships to hand out this year.

Which means, a lot of kids who are holding out hope for the Bama/Taint/UGa/Texas offers and/or NIL are still holding out hope.

Gonna be a lot of truth revealed in the next 7 weeks.

We're getting neg recruited like a mfer but I still expect Mario to close strong and we'll crack top 5
At this point what is there to negative recruit? Great offense and Wab play specifically, great OL, good DL. Freshman are still playing even with a veteran team (Lyle, Lofton, OJ). 6-0

i think he was related to Tim Walton or a family friend or some sh*t.
Family friend, more or less.

Downs’ dad & Walton grew up close by, knew each other & played against each other in HS.

Do kids really want to be the #4, 5 or 6 Bama recruit at their position though? I think a lot of the new reality is more parity not less. Hard to stack when your players can jump in the portal at literally any time. Which helps a staff like Miami where kids actually want to be with coaches and teammates they actually want to play for and with.
