You think Ewers and Beck are elite? You lost me right there.

Both are okay college QB’s. Don’t see either of them being great at the next level. Beck takes way too long to process what he’s seeing, and at the NFL level, he will get destroyed. Ewers is an okay prospect, but will also quickly learn that the NFL is a different beast.

Best QB prospect in this draft is Cam, and it’s not close. Sanders is right behind him, in my opinion. Even though Sanders will have to seriously work on his processing speed, too. If you hold the ball that long in the NFL without having elite scrambling skills, you’re asking for a hurting. Even Bo Nix, who is known for his running ability, is quickly finding out that NFL speed on defense is a whole nother beast.
Both those guys completed 70% of their passes last season for Top 5 teams, seems better than just okay if you ask me.

I also wasn't talking about pro prospects? I was talking about how difficult it is to have success in college football without the threat of running.

Otherwise you nailed it.

I trust my eyes more than stats. Both Beck and Ewers are okay QB’s. They don’t really do anything special, in my opinion. You put Beck or Ewers on that Washington St. team that Cam played for last season with that same OL, and they would be mid.

Texas barely moved the ball in the 1st half against OU, which is far from a juggernaut. They wore them down in the second half. The most impressive thing about Texas to me is their overall talent and depth. Their top 2 RB’s are out for the season and the 3rd and 4th string backs haven’t missed a beat.

Where Texas is elite is on D, specially at DT. They have some monsters there.

Georgia and Beck will get exposed probably twice more this season. Their WR’s are mid, and Beck isn’t nearly as good as they’re making him out to be. There are some major holes in his game and in my opinion, he’s overrated. He reminds me of Clemson’s Klubnik. A good player, but overhyped. They are also ranked 93rd in the nation in rushing yards per game this season, which is terrible, specially for a team that is known for running the ball.

I know you’re joking. But still worth a response.

This past cycle, we took a starting QB, WR, C, RB. DE, DT, S, CB, plus Bell, so that’s 9 guys. We also took a second DE who plays a ton, 2 additional DTs who rotate in all the time, a LB we thought would start, a second QB who almost was our starter, Taylor’s kid, and a S who transferred in then back out. 16 total, We could cut that by over half if we just get the right starters and be even better given the depth Mario and staff have built on the roster.
Just busting your balls. My point though is it’s like free agency and salary cap and they have to manage the roster and won’t always get the top guys we want.

thats exactly what FSU fans say about norvells recruiting
its basically loser copium
So you have a great 4star talent who is a dog, but you take the entitled and talented as **** 5 star?

when clemson was winning
they were stacking ELITE talent on the dline
we arent close to that
i think its bc Mario can only take D line recruiting personally every couple of years
Most of those Clemson classes were ranked between 7th-15th. They just happened to excel specifically at DL and had the fortune of landing Watson + Lawrence consecutively.

I dont think it's mope to say the recruiting update is meh. Expectations have risen thanks to Mario. I think this class is similar to 23. Half the guys are most likely jags. Our 24 class is exciting because it looks like majority of signees are going to contribute at some point in their time here. I think we bounce back and crush 26 recruiting. Fully trust Mario with recruiting. Consistent good teams and then we will start getting top 3 classes IMO.

It’s just as hard to have success in college football if you’re not accurate with the ball

Accurate QB will always trump a mobile QB

I'm glad not to see Tyler Williams' name mentioned among the WR's specified.

I think part of the disappointment from some about the class so far is tied to our lack of traction with an elite outside WR1 who can separate as a route runner, bring premier RAC ability, and stretch the field vertically, especially given what we're seeing from Smith at OSU and Williams at Alabama. Our WR haul may still end up as very good, but it sounds like we'll have to wait another year to try to get that Jeremiah Smith, Dakorien Moore-level receiver.

A DB class with Pickett, Hanks, Antoine, Merritt, and Stubbs would be an absolute grand slam, though, and provide a much-needed infusion of premier talent in the secondary.

Ultimately, the portal QB we're able to land -- assuming we prioritize one -- will be the most important player acquisition of the offseason. Closing strong on the trail and landing a top-tier portal QB to take the reins from Ward would provide plenty of cause for continued excitement.
If we portal a QB, then the staff dislikes Williams... He is done then

No not at all. We don’t have the depth in the QB room. For injury or not perfoming well during the season.

See it all across the country that depth is imperative. Just cause you went in to the season with a guy, doesn’t mean he finishes the season as the guy.

You bring in a portal guy and let him compete with EW for the programs sake.

Then if Williams doesn't start... He done
