@Memnon . Aye 🐐! Confidence1000 here. What u no bout dis new DC? Is he a Gangsta or what? I’ll hang up & listen

Both spent two years coaching with Schiano at Rutgers and I'm sure both would consider him an influential figure in their development. Schiano spent 1 year on Butch's staff when Mario was a GA, so he doesn't have a significant history with Schiano. Mario spent more time with Saban.
Mario was at Rutgers 3 years. And schiano was DC here for 2 years while mario was a Ga. Hetherman spent more time under cignetti than schiano

Randy Shannon was a horrible interview and would continuously say the team was "flying around" in practice and never say much of anything.

ST26 said it as well and I always thought it referred to the mascot being a bird and things generally flying around in a hurricane.

Pretty sure he's a really good recruiter. Not sure how good of an actual coach he is though. But DB is a position that typially will have 2 coaches especially when the DC is LB coach.

COULD be Monroe at CB and Hayward at S or something...

I remember Heywards name being thrown around when Mario put his first defensive staff together.

He coached with Mario at Oregon and was promoted to AHC under Mario, where he coached safeties.

He would definitely be someone I see Mario reaching out to

The options to bring his own guys (with prior experience together) would be very limited. He went into a full staff at Minnesota where he was the only plugged in piece.

His guys include - Matt Birkett - former CBs coach at USF. Was with him at Maine and JMU, Edidie Whitley - coached rovers under Hetherman at JMU, moved to coach safeties later, and now their CB coach.

Aside from that, Bryant Haines is the DC at Indiana and the rest aren’t really at this caliber.
Hayward would certainly make sense as a Rover coach given he's been db (mainly safeties) and linebackers coach, all recently...

Also I wouldn't even be surprised if DNic stayed...

His defenses don’t get beat by being out of position. Sound, smart and well coached.

I watch a lot of Gophers football, I thought they’d lose a step after Rossi went to Michigan State. I’d argue the defense was a lot better this year.

What does that even look like . . . ?

(In UM colors)
