Miami is expected to hire Ole Miss analyst William Vlachos as an assistant offensive line coach, sources tell @CBSSports/@247Sports.

Before Ole Miss, the former Alabama All-SEC center worked for teams like Western Kentucky, Alabama, the Buffalo Bills and Colorado.

Go Canes!

The Miami Hurricanes have their defensive coordinator. Minnesota defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman will be taking the same position with the Canes.

In games against FBS opponents, Minnesota finished 10th nationally in scoring defense (18.3 PPG), 14th in yards per play (4.7) and 19th in yards per pass attempt against (6.3).

Like Mario Cristobal, the 44-year-old Hetherman comes from the Greg Schiano coaching tree, having coached linebackers at Rutgers from 2022-23.

Hetherman had tremendous success at the FCS level. In 2021, he was named AFCA FCS Assistant Coach of the Year after coordinating James Madison's No. 2-ranked defense in the nation. He also served as Maine's defensive coordinator from 2016-18, leading the FCS in rushing defense, interceptions and fumble recoveries in his final season.

Hetherman is a Massachusetts native who played quarterback at Fichburg State from 2003-06.

Are you from the future @Memnon ????

For the record, I'm thrilled about the hire & think he's a great DC & defensive mind, which is why he was really one of the only DC's I mentioned/wanted.

But my point overall, is none of that sh*t really matters to this fanbase.

Yall feed on good Coaches & Coordinators like a wild pack of Hyenas. Every. Single. Offseason.
As my resident football advisor, I’m going with you and if you like this hire; I’m good with it! 🤣

I like that he was a QB and has coaching experience on the offensive side.

Part of being a good DC is understanding what the offense is trying to do.
I’ve heard so many coaches say they learned so much more about football by coaching on the opposite side of their specialty. It makes sense. Just like db’s that play wr. You’re learning the strategy of how they’re attacking you. Which helps you play db.
