Miami is expected to hire Minnesota Corey Hetherman as DC

The Miami Hurricanes have their defensive coordinator. Minnesota defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman will be taking the same position with the Canes.

In games against FBS opponents, Minnesota finished 10th nationally in scoring defense (18.3 PPG), 14th in yards per play (4.7) and 19th in yards per pass attempt against (6.3).

Like Mario Cristobal, the 44-year-old Hetherman comes from the Greg Schiano coaching tree, having coached linebackers at Rutgers from 2022-23.

Hetherman had tremendous success at the FCS level. In 2021, he was named AFCA FCS Assistant Coach of the Year after coordinating James Madison's No. 2-ranked defense in the nation. He also served as Maine's defensive coordinator from 2016-18, leading the FCS in rushing defense, interceptions and fumble recoveries in his final season.

Hetherman is a Massachusetts native who played quarterback at Fichburg State from 2003-06.

I admittedly don’t know much about out this guy but I’m pretty sure I met him in a mosh pit at the Punk in Drublic Festival a few years ago.

Seems to check all the boxes and those who know better than me seem to like him so giddy up *******

Here’s the trick. You see, teams usually come out in the first half and don’t do what they’ve shown you on film. They do something different. And if you can stop that, then in the second half, they revert to what they showed you on film. That’s the secret sauce! A wise man one said so, anyway.

How about a coach that doesn't have to make adjustments the second the game starts every single week. A good coach that is well prepared and has his team prepared should not be making a bunch of adjustments in the first half at all.
