Kiko Mauigoa: “Virginia Tech has a really good team, 2-2 is very misleading.”

1000%.

If those teams are a 9/10, I would say we are a solid 7.5 - the difference to me would be that Cam's ceiling can help narrow some of that gap to a 8 or so.

If that makes sense.
Cam being a force multiplier is exactly how I see it.

With the turnovers, it can go the other way as well compared to a more conservative QB.

I like to think of probabilities as this long hallway full of thousands of doors. The doors are not labeled.

What's behind each door is commensurate with the percentage of likelihood of that outcome you see in models etc. (as an example, a 94% winning percentage would mean there are a hundred doors and 94 of them hold the winning outcome and six hold a losing outcome.)

Ward not only gives more winning doors to our hallway, overall, in the total equation, he simply adds more doors period. The play to Riley Williams being an example of a door he adds that others don't.

Same goes the other way for turnovers. That same play that added doors to our hallway, also added doors for fumbles, injury, etc.

Long-winded way of how I see variance.

Makes sense. He giveth and he taketh.

I'm down to ride for the upside as it's so **** high.

I think this team will be taken forward by it's Defense funnily enough. If we can tighten it, then who knows but still quite a few questions there.

Don't ever teach probabilities and statistics, Lance.

Totally agree that this was proof of that character he spoke of. I've seen so many times the Canes kind of pack it in when things go poorly like this.

This was an absolute Sisyphus game, where you are pushing that boulder back up so many times and it keeps rolling right back down. They refused to stop pushing and found a way. I'd have encouraged even if the final call had gone against them, but it's nice to see character in action with this program.

I've felt all along this is a good/very good team. They are not an elite team. They are not the Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State level of stacking several strong classes on top of each other plus the culture already being there for the program (think of what Georgia showed in that second half vs. Alabama). This team will probably lose a game prior to the ACCCG. When it does, I'll be disappointed, but it won't be logical because variance will bite a good/not elite team most years.

I'm just having so much fun watching a program look the way it should, fight the way it should, and win the way it should after so long away.

As for the Dolphins, McDaniel hoodwinked me. Something Danny has preached for years about a baseline of toughness in football being a prerequisite and McD doesn't instill that or believe in it (or both). They won't win the way they're built. Tua made McD, not the other way around, but now you can't rely on Tua due to the concussions. Tough scene. Wish I could quit them sometimes.
I appreciate the Greek mythology reference. Extra pts in my book. Re the Phins, Trust me, you think it’s hard but it’s like breaking up with a toxic X. Wish them the best but don’t let them consume you!

Anyways bounce back game for DL and a cover for the canes imo. Got some people close to marshawn so the smack talk already started!
