Darell Jackson all over again.
At least he supposedly had an excuse to go back. And The ncaa still denied him and he had to sit a year.
I doubt this guy has a get out of jail card on this one.
He hit the portal for nil. Now he wants to go bounce to mizzu after enrolling.
He has to know that unless there are some extreme circumstances, the ncaa isn't gonna grant him squat. Im nowhere near litigiously inclined, but doesn’t this set a legal precedent?

If they let this guy play this year at mizzu then anyone on any team for any reason regardless of enrollment, can just leave.

No he can’t! Every school in the country would have 150 players in the roster and only 85 on scholarship if NIL allowed them to play as walk ons.
Cormani is doing this at UF. he can do this. the issue for him will be eligibility bc hes already transferred this cycle but so did proctor and hes immediately eligible so idk if It matters

proctor transferred twice this cycle Bama to Iowa (enrolled) and then Iowa to Bama (enrolled) and hes eligible

The difference is, Cormani entered the transfer portal and then transferred to Florida. The transfer portal is closed now. so he cannot enter the transfer portal. if he leaves, Miami, he has to sit out a year because he will not be eligible and he also will not be eligible for a scholarship.

I don’t think he even had a case for ncaa these are the rules and the schools agreed on it doesn’t seem like one that would go to court to be over turned for him. In that event it would take too long anyway. Hope he stays but if he goes do not let him out of anything makes his dumbass wait a year

These are the facts. He enrolled at UM and matriculated into classes. If he wants to play football, this fall, he has to play at UM. And those are undeniable facts. Yes, he can leave Um and enroll in a different school, but he will not be eligible to play football there, and he also will not be eligible to have a scholarship there. The portal is closed and that’s that. Odds are he will be back on the team very soon. Because I know these facts, have been made very clear to him.

isnt there another transfer window for the fall? I guess he'd have to graduate

Cormani is a walk on for Florida and will be playing this season. Presumably his NIL deal is paying his way. Teams are going to start doing this IMO. Walk ons play all the time and NIL is going to be a way to get a “free” scholarship.

yeah it looks like the only way he plays is if he walks on and id bet Missouri will give him an NIL to cover his tuition. I think there is a movement to eliminate walk ons bc of this loophole.

It's possible the only way the senior could join another program this fall would be to enroll as a walk on. Zenitz says there is buzz that he could land at Missouri.

Again, the difference is, Cormani entered the transfer portal and then transferred. The transfer portal is closed! End of story.

He can’t even do that. He enrolled and matriculated into classes at UM. If he wants to play this fall, it has to be at UM. He is not eligible to play anywhere else. His only option is to sit out a year.

Sounds like a potential cancer in the locker room, what happened to Mario bringing in high caliber players w character?

I hear you but the rules are so convoluted now. But this wouldn’t even be consideration if it were that cut and dry and there wasn’t some grey area loophole that could be leveraged.

If you’re terrified that teams are just going to “run it up the gut” all over our defense, whether or not an undersized 3 tech plays here isn’t going to change that. I’d prefer Barrow play here because it’s another live body we can throw out there and keep guys fresh but he’s not nearly stout enough to make or break a run defense.

Stopping the run was what Miami did best last year. Only ten teams in the country did it better. We’re more than capable of controlling the line of scrimmage
Except against Rutgers.

Everyone's making a big deal about how easy our schedule is. Last year, it wasn't much different. In fact, I find it hard pressed to find a challenging schedule since we were an independent. Nonetheless, not being stout up the middle may work against most of the schedule but when you move up in weight class, it will the first thing that's exposed.

That doesn't mean that anyone should be terrified, but it should temper our expectations.

Hoping no or drawn out news is good news here. Big mercenary vibes but unfortunately we need him due to so much youth at the DT position. Find a way to make it work.

Nil to cover for tuition and boarding is no where near what the number corner would be getting in today’s market. But if he pans out, uf is getting a steal. And if it is, that’s great.
But thats at least 50k that would be going into cormani’s pocket that now is going to bursars office.

What no one seems to be asking is… who’s paying?
Because if you expect cormani or his mom to be saving that walk on nil money to pay for tuition……. Good luck with that.

The cormani drama isn’t over. And it boggles my mind that with all the bad press the gators have gotten and will continue to get due to the Rashada case, they actually brought in a kid who has more baggage than samsonite.
