The last two highlights vs Clearwater show my concern. Standing up, playing patty cake with the OL then running to make the tackle after 2 seconds. He also missed most of the first half of that game (not sure if he was injured). Point being, you want a high motor for a 3star kid and he stands around a good amount. He also doesn't put his hand in the ground much let alone use a bull rush.
I hear you but it looks like he's playing the option which, by the way, he did pretty well on a few of those highlights by not crashing down and actually holding at the mesh point. I do agree that he doesn't put his hand in the ground and looks more like a DE.

This may be one of those “we took a flyer and hoped for a big development” situations. Tough part is it’s at Columbus and idk if Mario is gonna process out a kid from his high school

I'm going to be honest. I wasn't fully sold on Kamarion Franklin, so wasn't entirely saddened when he chose to stay local. But I saw the measurables and athleticism. I see none of that here. Sometimes the canvass isn't able to hold the paint.

Scott, Stone, Breland, Jones. Those kids are custom manufactured differently. More of those please.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about Mario getting hurt by him being processed. How do you win big if you don't do some of this during recruiting and years 1-3 for HS kids? I mean... the portal is literally a "processed" kid transfer engine for 90-95% of the kids. Yes, 5-10% are players looking for bigger NIL, more PT, closer to home...

I don't think processing a Columbus kid out of the class is tough at at. Columbus coach is very good friends with Mario and Maribel. A conversation will take place and Mario will let the optics look like App State or SMU flipped a kid from Miami's backyard and from Mario's Alma mater...that narrative won't matter.

I don't see Russell sticking around this class. I wouldn't be surprised if he is only a commit at the moment in name alone and not in practice.

Can’t believe I’m gonna say this but finally I trust the staff. He does look stiff but if he’s a hard worker who they think they can get something out or I’ll deal with it. Watch him become a monster lol.

So, he officiated my kid's flag league game a few months ago. I would have had no idea it was him, but word started to circulate about a "UM commit" refereeing. Until someone told me it was him, I kept looking at him and thought he was a LB or big RB. When I learned it was him, I was surprised. IMO, he doesn't look like a DT or a DE for that matter. Mario recruits body types and this one is surprising. That said, he was really friendly and seemingly a good kid, and he goes to my alma mater. So I will root for him regardless.

Not sure how good the 3 teams in the senior highlights are this year but its underwelming. Are they just blowing out teams and not playing starters in the 2nd half?

Idk maybe i'm just expecting more from a guy who was named Dade POY and a Miami commit, but i was left expecting more.
