It doesn't matter unless he plays a lot this year for recruits to see though.

And I don't see that happening. Even if we have a great season and rack up lots of points so TVD can sit out the 3rd and 4th quarter of many games, Brown has 4 (or is it 6 now?) games to play before losing his shirt, and they're going to play him first for sure. So Williams will only get garbage time.

They are absolutely negative recruiting our QB situation
do you blame them? as long as lagway stays committed to UF and we still dont bring anyone else on board, were going to get negative recruited at that position (nothing from brown is a selling point right now but has the tools to be good and the rest are just unknowns to projects). hype sells in recruiting

maybe eventually. I happen to like him and think he's got potential. I just don't think the big time WR recruits have much of a read on him as "the guy"
Yep. Both can be true. I wouldn’t be completely shocked if he’s a somewhat successful starter here down the road. But we should always be aiming higher and I’m sure we are

I think recruits / kids are much smarter than some think. I mean they all ran for the hills from Gattis / Miami .

Let’s not kid ourselves though , Petrino is very well respected as a qb / offensive guru. I mean all he has to do is play the video of Lamar talking him up as being a great coach and having a big part in his development.

If A&M ‘s O explodes this year kids are smart enough to know why that happened. And it’s not Jimbo suddenly getting his groove back.

That’s not even discussing the financial reasons. That said this receiver class depends on Dawsons O and preferably an upgrade at qb with recruiting.
The bold part is spot on.

Been hearing nothing but positive reviews on Dawson, and this is from the same people who were skeptical of Gattis at same point last season - not sunshine pumpers.

Would you say this is what you’re hearing too? Mario might’ve got this one right.
I’ve heard nothing but positives. Players are excited to play in this scheme especially after last years abortion.

@Cribby are you a Dawson fan? I have bought in to Guidry. Can't quite figure out Dawson yet. Anyone is better than last year's dumpster fire of an OC. But can Dawson be legit?
I wasn’t super excited when I heard he was likely the guy, I even posted the 😑emoji a couple days before he was named. But after doing research on his offense I was won over.

Easy throws for the qb, pushes the ball downfield , likes the run out of spread formations and plenty of guys getting a shot to be involved. Everyone gets an opportunity to make plays. Just go look at all the guys getting touches in his time at Houston. Wr’s and backs. That excites kids and keeps them more focused because they’re involved . There’ll be plenty of balls to go around and chances to make plays.

The most impressive thing was him going from leaning more on the run the previous year to throwing it around the lot the next year when he lost his starting rb Mcallister. He scrapped everything and put the offense on Tunes right arm and legs for that matter.

That last part, the adjustments and versatility, I think it can be said about both of our new coordinators

The whole discussion about scheming to your strengths gets played out as nauseum but a big part of our issue the last 15 plus years is coaches and coordinators that refused to adjust, egotistically at times trying to prove a point

I feel confident that’s changing

It’s all about perception.
This is true, but the only way for it change. Is for recruits to believe in the process of change and take a chance. Like they did for Saban after his first year at BAMA. He’ll even FSPOO would have mediocre years and still land 5* talent. I didn’t get it, but I do now. Our coaches couldn’t sell the dream or vision. Mario can because he has a track record of success at Oregon. Won the Rose Bowl, beat OSU at the horse shoe and 2 PAC 12 Titles. Also known as a tireless recruiter and all we can do is LET HIM COOK.

Well, u have a dilemma on hand. I’m not talking about a real dilemma, but a CIS dilemma. I’ll explain this in another thread shortly.

My only worry is TVD only looks for x and misses wide open guys like mallory for example wide open clear touchdown but all tvd looks for is x. Tell me that wont happen this year?

I‘d scrap everything off last year. It never happened lol. I’d judge TVD more on the previous year when he had a better schematic fit and actual time to pass. Last season was the perfect **** storm .

fair enough. Mulligan year. He needs to spread the ball this year.
