Why are people complaining about this? He may not be a day one impact player, but with his size and athleticism, he can develop into an impact guy for us. Oh and most importantly, he’s got three years of eligibility left.

If I’m not mistaken, didn’t I read he converted from WR to DB? Most of you threw a fit when Washington left because you wanted see him develop as a corner. Where’s that same attitude for this kid? One is 5’11 and one is 6’3

lol it seems like the same maribros are out to defend every little thing he does lol

After following this team for a bit you learn to let the mopers mope and the copers cope. It's silly to think you can change either sides opinion.

i can be characterized as both but more so mope at this point. i thought mario had his best year as a UM coach and erased a lot of negatives. the biggest issue for him was the cuse in game coaching (thought he reverted back to old mario esp at the end). overall, he was good this year. the defense was horrific and ultimately falls on the recruiter and the HC who hired the DC.

I think the middle ground will be realist. I'm not sure it matters who we have as HC unless we are in the power 2. The money and talent differences are continuing to grow. Right now my only expectations for a coach is to win the ACC. It's starting to become unrealistic to win a national championship.

I studied his Texas Tech and Colorado games and was pleasantly surprised. He's much better than I expected him to be.

Long, can change direction for a guy his size. Decent speed (bit of a long strider). Had some trouble finding the ball, but even on a couple of plays he gave up against Colorado WR's singled up he had his arm there at the catch point or was contesting the ball.

Not sure if I'll write him up fully (especially given the mood seems to be down on the kid). But I do know that Michigan's staff REALLY wanted this kid (per their beat writer) and that he was much better than #1 on film, who was supposed to be their stud and an NFL draft pick. Arizona staff seemed to know #23 was their best guy because they played their defense that way and he was a freshman in football eligibility.

Played on kick block, punt return (outside blocker), gunner on punt coverage, covered kicks.

Maybe there are some games out there that someone can link me to where he was dog sausage so I can see all the negative stuff?
Thanks Lance. Appreciate you taking the time and effort. Happy New Year

I think… you’re blaming the wrong person in this post without realizing it lol

I see where you’re headed with that. But I would think talent acquisition would be responsibility #2 after playcalling under Mario, and it’s not just on Mario, Jackson (whom Guidry hired) or Smith and his recruiting staff. Am I wrong about that?

Looks like the State Media has gotten their talking points.

“Many think he has the better tape,” blah, blah, blah.

Can’t we just be honest about this dude?

He has good football measurables and fast (pause) and has potential to develop into something better because he played a lot as a freshman.

At the same time, he struggled a lot and wasn’t very good a lot of times, had terrible PFF scores and we are just throwing bodies at the problem and see if he can be developed into something better.

That’s it!

ive given up on the NC dream a while ago, however, seeing our offense with Cam and the year we had with no one else being uber elite gave me hope. i dont see how this year with Cam is remotely repeatable. i also dont have faith in the defense until guidry is gone.

lol they asked the cooper dude why he says this guy is so good yet the PFF scores were horrendous. Cooper said no idea LMAO.

not saying PFF is the bible, but there is a HUGE discrepancy between what the Mario News Network says and what the scores show and PFF isnt that far OFF the truth
I don’t get people that trash PFF.

…show me another site that has the audacity to grade every single snap from a collegiate player. Literally any other site.

Because there really isn’t one.

Is it a perfect science? No. Is it gospel? Nope. It was created for the pros, and has been adapted to college.

Is it better than 98% of all college football data out there? You’re **** right it is. I’m supposed to trust HarryChungus01 or MarioBroLover69 on canesinsight over literal scientific data deriven from every single collegiate snap?

But ok. He’s projectable and athletic. That’s like telling a chick she has a great personality, because she’s not attractive. The thing that ultimately matters.

Depth guys. Relax.

If he sucks he jumps in the next portal window.

DBs were junk so a sprinkling of quality and quantity has to get pumped in there.
