The Portal is officially open, and the Hurricanes were quick to extend an offer to fast-rising Miami (OH) transfer WR Reggie Virgil.

The 6'4, 190-pound Apopka, FL native played primarily special teams his first two seasons (2 total catches) before exploding as a junior. On the season, Virgil made 41 catches for 819 yards (19.9 YPC) and 9 TDs.

Virgil attended Mount Dora Christian Academy, where he was a low three-star recruit and the 238th-ranked recruit in Florida. He was a two-time team captain and a three-sport star (football, basketball and track). On the field, he had 46 catches for 946 yards and 10 TDs to go with 1,019 yards and seven scores on the ground. On the track, he has personal records of 22'7 in the long jump, 6'6 in the high jump, and 15.56 in the 110M Hurdles.

Virgil also holds offers from Florida State, Florida, and Oklahoma.

Is every G5 player an absolute sh*thole now or something?

800+ yards receiving, 9 TDs, and a big body at 6'4 is nothing to snuff at. Like what world do you guys live in?

Some weird takes here.
Florida, Oklahoma and FSU want him.

As much as I get the hatred for these programs, it's not slouch competition either. That's bigger names wanting to go back to their winning ways by any means necessary.

Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton should get every penny allocated for the WR position. If this kid wants to come in for free, sure. If he’s taking up capital that would belong to those two, pass.

Eric Singleton yes.

Cam Coleman is not in the portal.

based on how esd went
Mario might have gotten tired of being stuffed in a locker and just going for low hanging fruit
This seems like the smart thing to do
At least he lands someone
We didn’t land either of our cb targets in esd
Hoping history doesn’t repeat itself
