Mario loves big plodding rb’s imo. Watch other games and you see big runs by fast shifty rb’s. We just plow straight ahead into a line that doesn’t pull much.

Can’t argue with the offense production this year but also think we wasted his talent to spread the defenses out even more.

AJ produced when he got touches last year and this year. Don’t blame him one bit for leaving.

Our team looks slow compared to what you see from other teams weekly. And we invented speed. Crazy to think this offense was this good yet our rb’s scared no one from a speed perspective.

It just looks different when he runs it.

I can’t understand how guys like this just stop getting carries.. almost like the coaches want them to transfer.. unless it’s some background stuff we don’t know about..

Yall said the same exact thing about Lyle after Wake.

Then, we put him in the game way earlier against Syracuse, and he loses yardage (which Martinez and Fletcher never do, btw), and immediately the Monday Morning QBs start with the "WhY aRE wE RUnNiNG iT wITh LyLE??!!?" nonsense. Laundry bro fans do nothing but play the results.

I like Allen. I like Lyle. But Martinez and Fletcher were the 2 best backs on the team last season. Lyle has a ton of potential. But the offense, and running game, was predicated on having the two grown *** men we have back there leading it in a north/south scheme. We absolutely kicked *** inside the tackles this year. That's due to the OL and our 230lb backs.

So Allen is a good player. Lyle is going to be REALLY good, IMO. But there's only 1 football. If the coaches give it to Fletcher and Martinez, then fans ***** about they must want Allen to transfer. If they give it to Allen or Lyle and they don't perform, then fans ***** about why are you not giving the ball to your "starters". Just play the results, and then ***** about them after the fact if they don't go the way you think they should. Laundry Bro playbook, Page 1.

You sure? Look at the rbs he has brought in none of those guys are big except fletcher. Even at Oregon his backs wasn’t big. I think he just likes guys that are physical and run hard

Oh really and you base that on what ?

Returning punts in college and knowing what it takes. And watching with my own two eyes. RBs rarely return punts, especially because of how difficult it is to field and catch. He’s a great player, but he does not have the skill set to return punts

Nobody is denying his talent lol. There was just so much talent in that room. Why would he want to sit around and be the third string rb behind Lyle and Fletcher?

If Martinez hits the league- any chance he considers returning? At this point in the Mario era it’s pretty clear 3 backs are guaranteed consistent touches. Unfortunately, he was RB4 last year.

Allen wants touches. He wants a shot to make it to the NFL, and that's not going to happen if he sits behind Lyle and Fletcher. Don't think Martinez's future factored into his decision

Is #6 Martinez coming back?
We'll find out after the game Saturday. Mario likely is telling these kids to keep it on the dl so Iowa State doesn't know who to prepare for

Saw this coming but Had high hopes. Not a great pass protector which is why he got limited snaps. He was dynamic when he touched the ball. Tougher loss than CJJ imo
This sort of thing is overlooked by fan bases generally. If you can't pickup the blitz, you're not going to play. Highlight reels seldom show the RB's quarterback getting killed.

Lyle is fast, Humphrey is fast, Pringle is fast..
All 3 have shake. Straight line speed is best for running track.

Fair and generally agree. 145 carries this year from Martinez is actually the most that any RB has gotten under Mario here at Miami. If his goal is to get over 200 carries, then Miami would not be for him even if he was RB1.

However, being in an RB rotation where he’s getting 100 carries behind a great OL would give him a good opportunity to get film for the league. Creme rises to the top. You don’t need 200+ carries to get to the league. Only thing that will do will increase the wear and tear on his body.

Best of luck to the kid wherever he lands. He’s talented.
