Derrick Harmon - DT MSU

We have big guys on the edge like Bain and messidor who both are 280 so that helps. Then pair that with 2 DTs that are 290-300 and that d-line is one of the biggest in cfb
Agreed. If we got into a bully time of possession game it is a different case. Remember the 2000 BC game. Some team will run clock and maintain time of possession and we may be off offensively a game or two during a season.

Yea we did need a big DT, I dont trust Cane fan sites cause everytime they say the guy we got is better and that doesnt seem true to me. The one thing I know is true is that this dude is better than JHH. That I know
yea he’s an upgrade from jhh
But otherwise the problem hasn’t been addressed
And that was a lack of a dt
he def helps the team
But I wanted is to get someone who could change the defense like fiske did for fsu

Fiske didn’t change fsu defense. Statistically they were actually worse overall than they were in 2022. They finished 28th in 23 and was 15th in 22. Rush defense went from 75th in to 73rd. Went from 10th in sacks to 4th. Pass defense dropped from 4th to 11th

Bro, it’s like I hate FSU right, but ANYONE W/ EYES could see these mofos improved last season. Lol

It was clear as day FSU had 3 guys along their DL that were considered 1st - 2nd round picks w Verse, Payton, & Fiske. He was a helluva portal pick up, & it is what it is.

To provide bull **** stats to prove a point is wild. Like fck an eye test, THE STATS R READILY AVAILABLE!! Lol. Fiske was a fckin problem, & I’m glad he’s gone.

I pray for the day that in 2024 and beyond, we can stop linking coaches to a program that they were associated with 2+ seasons ago. Please, for the love of God, especially in the portal era.

Oregon/Lanning is good because of what MC did before he got there.

We suck because we still have too much Manny stinch.

This narrative, by FAR, outside of us being 12-13 in the past 2 years, is the most annoying **** on this board, easily.
What narrative? The fact that Mario only has 10 of Manny’s players left is proof enough. What was that same number for Lanning?

Plus the portal just starting becoming SERIOUS free agency was last year when the transfer rule was challenged.
Preach it!!

And Lanning got the better MSU DL...
How about we let them play apart for one year and see who performs better befor we crown the **** man.:: they played right next to each other. So there play good or bad was significantly tied to whom was getting double teamed slanted at that game.

This hurts
This is the Dt we needed
The difference between top 4 and top 20
Now I have to keep trying to convince myself that his teammate is just as good when there is a clear drop off

how can Mario land game changers this year in hs
But he keeps just landing jags through the portal
our portal dt list
moultrie
Lichtenstein
Dean
Gore
Clark
West
That is not a championship level group

Something just doesn’t add up
Bruh..:: you’re high right??

there’s going to be some inherent bias for sure with ratings and influence over the CFP committee, but we also have to acknowledge the P2 have the best teams.

It’s a rough sketch, but I could foresee it going like this:

BIG10 Champ
SEC Champ
ACC Champ
BIG12 Champ
G5 Champ at #12

Those are given. Then 7 at-large bids

SEC #2
SEC #3
BIG10 #2
BIG10 #3
ACC #2
SEC #4
BIG10 #4 vs. ND vs. BIG12 #2 vs. ACC #3 all for that last spot. Probably in that order depending on the strength of schedules / records.
The most recent negotiation (dictatorship) gives the B1G and SEC 4 teams each automatically. For the ACC to get a 2nd team, that team would basically have to enter the title game with 0 or 1 loss. I don't see a 10-2 ACC team going ahead of a 9-3 B1G, SEC, or 10-2 Notre Dame.

The G5 is not an automatic qualifier. They will have to finish in the top 12 of the CFP rankings to get in. I'm sure there will be some G5 tears when a 10-2 or 9-3 team is ranked above an undefeated G5 school for that 12th spot.

The thing that really vexes me is ND gets $12M every year regardless of whether they make the CFP. Paying them $12M just about makes them an automatic qualifier with 9 wins. Why would they ever join a conference?

Are you asking for the entire roster or those who just played/produced a stat?

For

Lanning has out recruited MC very easy. Of course Nike money is difficult to beat
Your statement is FALSE. Look at the past 2 recruiting cycles.

Recruiting rankings 2024: Oregon #4 (27 commits), Miami #5 (27 commits).
Recruiting rankings 2023: Oregon #9 (29 commits), Miami #7 (26 commits).

To say Lanning out recruited Mario is false. To say he's done so easily is egregious. Oregon has 1 billionaire behind their program. My understanding is Miami has four.

For context, both coaches have recruited similarly. However, Mario has recruited at a high level despite having 5-7 and 7-6 records. Oregon, on the other hand, was 10-3 and12-2 the past 2 seasons.

One could extrapolate that Mario has recruiting better than Lanning. If you have $10 million dollars and make $1 million and I have $1 million and make $1 milion, who performed better?

Both coaches have recruited well and will continue to recruit well. I think Mario and Miami have an advantage in that Oregon has to go nationally for all their recruits. With Miami winning and deep NIL pockets, a lot of the in-state recruits will stay home and then add nationally on top of that. Mario is doing to others what they've been doing to Miami. For 2025, Miami is in it for 3 5-star recruits from Georgia. It will be a difficult challenge, but Mario took Ny Carr from UGA this cycle and would have had Ellis Robinson if we had a good season. It's going to be scary when Miami wins 10+ games. A 10 win season last year would have added Ellis Robinson to the DB room. I think an ACC title and CFP appearance would put Miami into the top 3 recruiting stratusphere.

lol your stats are just as **** faulty then. Total defense was worse, pass defense worse, rush defense still in the 70s, rz defense the same basically, 1st down defense slightly worse, scoring defense basically the same. The biggest improvement was 3rd down defense, tfls, and picks. You should’ve look at this better before you posted it cause none of that is completely changing fsu defense

Don’t understand why we aren’t talking to CJ West. He has the same measurables as Demonic and he rated at 89. 4 year starter with a high motor that plays from sideline to sideline. 6’2” 315 and gets after the QB.
