Stop it....I've known Mike since he was a frosh at UM.....He's more than qualified to coach DBs....He learnt from possibly the best DB coach in UM History....
I never questioned if he is qualified or not. Im just pointing out that he has done a subpar job at recruiting. You admitting that u knw him personally disqualifies u from this debate bc it would be difficult for u to overcome ur bias to him on a personal level blinding u from looking at the job hes done objectively at applying justified criticism.

Yet you not knowing him at all qualifies you to have a more worthy opinion?....lmao. That's some objective thinking there buddy.

Also, a hearty lol at the idea of anyone "disqualifying" someone from having an opinion on a ******* internet message board. Too funny.

Idk y ppl disagree with the statement. Dugans & Hartley are killing it, Rumph & Banda suspect at best. Is it not obvious?

Sadly, it's not obvious. Remember how much people use to love Al Golden? Remember how the first movers to fly the banner were considers "scum" & "classless"... now they're heroes. There will be a tipping point on Rumph. My tipping point just came much sooner, when he got out-recruited by Randy Shannon of all people for Edwards & Henderson.

Ivey, Frierson, Hall, Blades, Carter, Bandy (who doesn't exactly count). I'd say they're doing alright.

It's hard to not do "alright" with DBs when you're located in So Florida. They've gotten good talent no doubt, but they've missed too many top guys.

Dugans and Hartley are on a completely different level as salesman than Rumph and Banda.

Everyone has their opinion but he brings this up in every thread. We get it you guys don’t like the db coaches but I don’t constantly need to be reminded of it
I understand that but its not about "like" its about looking at it a situation objectively and saying this is a definite red flag. There isnt a position group in the country that misses on more 4 & 5 star talent, from our own backyard, than our DB coaches.

The guy misses on more homegrown 4 or 5 star talent than anyone in the country. You only see this **** here. Wont see it at Bama, UGA, FSU, OSU, Clemson, etc. Our fanbase needs to realize that these are not personal attacks, there merely observations of what we are lacking.

I know you think it's old news and I'm beating a dead horse with Rumph, but here's the thing - it's not. Every year he's on the staff as our DB coach or point man on recruiting elite DBs, we're going to miss on elite DBs (this is a program that was BUILT on elite DBs).

And I've even been proactive in recommending other solutions... that he goes to a sales course (as absurd as that sounds) or having Dugans or Hartley run point on elite DBs. At the end of the day Rumph is a Cane and I'm sure a good dude, and I would love nothing more for him to silence my caneballz by signing elite kids, but he's missed 3 or 4 cycles in a row now and there have been ZERO changes. At this point it's CMRs fault now.

THOSE DBS WE MISSED WERE NEVER COMING TO MIAMI... Now, Please shutup about this situation already. Rumph is learning how to recruit, but the guy can coach his *** off. You don't commit to schools because of the position coach. You play for Miami Hurricanes not coach Rumph. The best will play and that's how it's always been. Go Canes.

This is a tired convo but it must be pointed out that you are really discrediting the guys we signed just to make an argument. Yes he missed on the two highest rated guys. However the DB class he signed last year was loaded and on paper was one of the top groups in the country. So to say he can’t sign elite DBs is false. I’m sure you have arguements to discredit the guys we got such as legacies and all the other but the results stand.
