Can't overpay on emotion. That's bad business particularly when there are larger holes that need to be addressed.

Sure. But these are 18-22 year old kids making decisions. Money is likely going to be factor 1,2, and 3. Not saying it should be but that's likely reality.

That's the problem - the WR field has winnowed quite a bit and when that happens, you have less options for an elite guy and the result is overpaying. You need to jump on guys early.
