You're in charge: assemble a realistic coaching staff

If it wasn't for Golden's loyalty to his guys, he would be the man for the job. He seems like a leader but I just don't see him making the changes necessary to make us a top 10 team every year.

Please don't attack me for this, but weren't we crucifying Randy for the exact same thing? Anyone remember Arthur Brown?

By 'his guys' I meant some of the coaching staff. Golden has the tools to be a great CEO. I feel he needs to get out of his way and run this like a business. You underperform, your out! Theres way too much competition at the college coaching level to have people who aren't doing their jobs.

I personally was kinda happy when i thought Golden was going to leave for PSU. Only because it would mean no Donofrio, and BUTCH SAID HED LIKE TO COME COACH Miami again. Plus Chudzinski and Schiano had just been fired. Im telling u that was the perfect time to get new coaches...

I still haven't completely lost faith in Golden but felt the same way, if he left he would take Dorito with him and we might get back to having real defenses around here.

Chud and Schiano are still available. So is Butch. I prefer Chud, but Schiano might be the better choice because of college HC experience. I want Butch on defense and recruiting chief, but not HC. He needs a shot and would probably take DC or even assistant slot. Ken or Steve would be great as QB coach or OC.

HC: Chad Morris - would work wonders with the weapons we have and these So florida boys would love to play for his offense
OC: Coley - for recruiting
DC: Jeremy Pruitt - hungry, young and can recruit lights out

Curtis Johnson Head Coach

He is cutting his teeth at Tulane and coached in the NFL as well as at UM.

I think he would be a great recruiter and he understands what being a Cane is all about.

The guy asks us to be realistic and then names Butch ******* Davis as the Defensive Backs coach. Oh my god. Seriously holy **** at the ridiculousness of that. Butch is a head coach at the college level or an assistant or consultant at the NFL level at this point in his career. Now there might be, and I stress might be, a less than 5% chance of him being a DC at a top paying school. And it would have to be at a school that could pay some top dollars for a DC. But even that scenario I find to be remote.

It just grinds my gears when people utter realistic out one side of their mouth and say the dumbest **** on the other side. Everyone that names Ed Reed, MIchael Irvin, or Ray Lewis as assistants needs to be euthanized bc that is the dumbest **** ever. Now Lamar Thomas and Ken Dorsey on the other hand are in fact going the coaching route and potentially could be candidates for coaching gigs. But even Dorsey might not be ready for an OC job just yet. But he's getting there and very well could be a quality offensive coordinator in a couple years. Lamar has done a **** of a job fast tracking his coaching by hitching his wagon to Petrino coming from Hampton to Div I ACC Louisville in a just a few years. But even Lamar is still green when it comes to the business of college coaching.

We might be middle of the road in conference for head coaching pay but I'm pretty sure we are scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to paying assistants. The thing that has really hamstung us is competitive assistant pay. That's one of the biggest advantages a Alabama, Ohio St, or Florida has is the ability to pay assistants through the roof and in Alabama's case create new made up on the spot positions for coaches to be "non coaching" positions.

The only name tossed around that had a realistic chance of being a head coach here with president and BOT approval was Chud. The word was the BOT's liked him and his NFL background and he might be receptive. But of course we knew that all went to pipe dream status with Franklin going to PSU.

I realize that most of if not just about every **** poster here isn't familiar with coaching names that aren't former players for us. I sure as **** don't. If anyone here is in fact in coaching or has inroads to that side of things, I would say that would be the person that would have names that are realistic and we need to hear from. Bc by and large assistants are probably gonna be hired here at Miami without having any fanfare or recognition to the public.

Head Coach - Me.
OC - My dad
DC - **** Butkus
QB coach - Gus Malzahn
WR - DJ Shockely (his name sounds cool)
RB - Daniel Day-Lewis
OL - Rick Ross (both, they'll take turns)
DL - The fat ***** that lives down the street from my house. I dunno if he knows anything about football but he's fat so probably
LB - Ray Lewis
DB/Associate head coach - Savannah Fox's ***

S&C - Greg Anderson
Asst S&C - Luqman Abdallah

Money not being an object...

The best X and O's coaches today. UP and coming position coaches who are looking to get to the HC spot.

Butch Davis or Rob Chudzinski as head coach and then let them pick their coaches. DC must run some variation of a 4 man front and the OC must run an NFL type of offense

Why is everyone so enamored with this?
We made this popular by being one of the first ,heck now half of the NFL isn't even running it. Because the game is changing. I think we have missed the boat on a spread. I would still bring in that crack case Leach from WSU. That guy is a friggen offensive mastermind. Then I would go after Leavitt to coach the defense/asst HC. Then its going to mostly be recruiters for position coaches. Keep Brown and Barrow. I would try to keep the DB coach.. He has done well. Keep ICE, and even bring in another local guy as a recruiting coordinator type.... More than anything I would focus on recruiting.... Its hard to make chicken soup out of chicken ****.... Just my opinion...

I was and have been, but the more I think about it the more I think the spread offense would be lethal with South Florida Talent at the skill positions.
