It was so bad today the defense that I immediately was speculating during the game that miami should have went for it on 4th down and goal at the 10 yard line and the tried an onsides kick since I knew our D couldn't stop them. It was obvious.

Why did Mario since he was head coach not try to force adjustments with his DC at halftime or at some point since that is his job? Maybe he doesn't know.

Did anyone think that hold on Miami's Off tackle on Martinez's 60 yard run was bogus? That was questionable I thought.

I feel the worst for Cam Ward and Restrepo who are two of the best players to ever come through Miami at their respective positions. They deserved better.

Guidry should either resign or be fired on Monday. There is no way our players on D are this bad. It's at least partly on the coaches.

I am not trying to criticize or judge as much as I am just asking honest questions. How can George commit such a selfish penalty and why does this keep happening with him?

Horton dropped a key pass on last drive also. Just jaw dropping.

How can Loften who is so highly regarded not turn around in time on a perfectly thrown ball?

This was one of worst Miami losses in last 25-30 years and it ranks up there with 1998 cuse game and 2006 gatech loss. Just inexcusable especially after being up 21-0.

I honestly am devastated after this loss and really don't have much to say other than the D really didn't surprise me but I was hoping we would show at least some improvement after last week.

It just really hurts but I am still hopeful that Mario can turn it around. But this one is going to sting for a while until we prove something hopefully next year.

With a 10 year contract with Mario, there is nothing happening there. But the D staff is a different story. We'll see what happens.

All this Grunt can do is talk about recruiting. Mario....championships are won ON the field. So much obsession with five star diva athletes. Give me a bunch of three stars that have a hive mindset and function with one vision and one purpose. That's who you lost to in Atlanta. That's who you lost to today.

I've been banned from this website more times than I can count. The biggest reason is that I'm smarter than most of you. I mope when you guys are drinking kool-aid, and you find reasons to ban me for it. But I end up being right every single time. I called 7 wins in 2023 and was dead right. I called 9 wins prior to 2024 and was off by a game.

The other thing I do is I don't get as low as you guys when we lose. It's not the end of the **** world, yall. We weren't winning the natty this year anyway.

We can easily build on what we did this year and make the ACCCG next year. It's just going to depend on what they do this offseason, whether we have the money, and whether our money people are willing to spend it. Because it's going to cost a fortune. We need a ton of starters on every level of the defense. We need another top quarterback. We need a top 5 high school class.

That stuff won't be cheap. But if our money people want it, it's there to be had.

The core of this year's team - Mario's first two recrutiing classes - were only freshman and sophomores this year. Stack another top 5 class on top of that and add some starters out of the portal and there's no reason we shouldn't be contending for the ACC in 2025. But again, we'll have to see what the NIL people want to do and how badly they want to win.

It is if you have a hit rate Mario had last portal season on defense. Probably not but we are going to have to up the budget 5x from last year to put together next years team. Dyoni Hills and Marley Cooks won’t do it.

I don't see it that way. We won 7 games in 2023 with our QB effectively throwing the games. It's hard to be bad with a good OL.

Now, will we have as good of an opportunity as we had this year? That's what hurts.

If you build your roster the right way and coach the right way…you create your own opportunities.

If we put the hopes of our season next year in the hands of a mediocre QB, we'll deserve everything that comes with it.

This season is a failure. We had a DC who couldn’t come up with any answers all season, a secondary that lacked talent (Mario?), and a really highly paid DL that couldn’t impact games.

That level of failure on defense is absurd. This DC and DL get a 21-0 lead and can’t do anything? Mario owns it. Just no excuse for being this bad and inept. That Syracuse D is full of stiffs yet provided way more resistance against a much more talented offense.

I will say he’s the fall back option but at the same time the most likely option.

Honestly this board actually makes following the team worst.

I’m sorry D$ you pour a lot into this and when it first started this place was fresh and different than the old place.

But towards the end of the Richt era through now this place has fallen apart.

Our own fans on this site talks more trash about coaches and players than our “rivals”.


And what’s crazy is when I talk to diehard canes fan who aren’t on this board. They are just as frustrated with the results but have totally different outlook on the overall perspective on the program and are capable of having a level discussion on the good and bad.


Again…someone literally tried to claim that the #4 recruiting class was “trash”. Idc if the players never amount to anything that doesn’t change the class ranking.


And I disagree there will be more games and more seasons and lord’s will I’ll be around to see them and I hope soon we’ll be hoisting that trophy.


But at the end of the day…following and rooting for this team is hobby and life is too short not to enjoy the victories because it wasnt perfect.


I don’t know what this team will do next season.


Cuz I don’t know how the roster will shake out.


But I do know if anyone wants to enjoy next season whether we got 12-0 or 7-5 you won’t find it here.


We are 10-2 seen more touchdowns than in any season before and this place has been insurable since VaTech.
