We still have a chance to make the playoffs. 10-2 is a good season. Yes we should have won but I was not expecting to win the natty. ACC champion ? Maybe

I didn’t adhere to the one thing I try and do during Cane football this year.

When it comes to Cane football Never expect anything good and you’ll never be disappointed but if good things do happen by chance you can celebrate the success.

That way you’re never disappointed but can occasionally be happy.

What up and coming D-co worth a **** wants to sit through a 15 hour interview just for the chance to work under Mario and his boneheadedness?
 
Disagree on one point. This was not a lost opportunity. Did anyone really see this team going anywhere in the playoff had they made it?

Yes, the coaching on the defensive side of the ball is abysmal and I'm sure there will be major changes in the offseason because of it. But let's not pretend this was the 2001 defense out there talentwise. Perhaps the slowest group of LBs I've seen in the past 40 years. Some guys in the secondary that should not be on a D1 field to begin with (again coaching or the lack thereof has some to do with that).

My point is, the team was quite fortunate to get to 10 wins this year with how much of a liability the defense was. Should they have played some of the younger guys on D? Perhaps, but they probably don't win 10 games this year if they do. Although I will say the additional experience would help next season.
 
I've been banned from this website more times than I can count. The biggest reason is that I'm smarter than most of you. I mope when you guys are drinking kool-aid, and you find reasons to ban me for it. But I end up being right every single time. I called 7 wins in 2023 and was dead right. I called 9 wins prior to 2024 and was off by a game.

The other thing I do is I don't get as low as you guys when we lose. It's not the end of the **** world, yall. We weren't winning the natty this year anyway.

We can easily build on what we did this year and make the ACCCG next year. It's just going to depend on what they do this offseason, whether we have the money, and whether our money people are willing to spend it. Because it's going to cost a fortune. We need a ton of starters on every level of the defense. We need another top quarterback. We need a top 5 high school class.

That stuff won't be cheap. But if our money people want it, it's there to be had.

The core of this year's team - Mario's first two recrutiing classes - were only freshman and sophomores this year. Stack another top 5 class on top of that and add some starters out of the portal and there's no reason we shouldn't be contending for the ACC in 2025. But again, we'll have to see what the NIL people want to do and how badly they want to win.
 
I have an interesting idea. Stop recruiting South Florida, especially the south florida boys who dont go to Texas or Bama or Georgia. These guys are not the hungry ones. You would think they would be,but this isnt 1980. World has changed obviously. These guys are soft attention seeking tik tokers , basically
