This Team is 8-3 some of you act like we are 5-5. No I am not happy with the the Defense no one is but I can't believe how many people are " Iwant Golden replaced or fire Golden get this guy". This is year 3 of the mess he took over. Have you forgotten he was left a roster that has not had a 1st round pick in 4 years this year will make 5. That roster had no DL and no secondary to speak of. Also Name me one difference maker on either side of the ball that Golden didn't Bring in. Plus most of the true Jr and So should have been red shirted but couldn't due to the lack of talent left by Blandy. We have top recruits coming in now and we are winning games. He really only has 2 full recruiting classes that are his. All of witch had the Ncaa BS attached to them. Don't kid yourself it hurt. Give the man sometime and support! He has a plan and you better appropriate it. Because I am sure there are some other school that will.

Who is saying fire Golden? People want D'Onofrio replaced which is fair - our defense is ******* awful and it goes above and beyond any NCAA dark clouds or whatever mess you think Randy left us in.

Here's some news for you though. Usually when you get a new coach, the reason is because the old one wasn't very good and so we're not the only program in history where the old coach left the new one a hot steaming pile.

Now that said, what is Golden going to do about the defense? That's what I want to hear this offseason.

To be fair, the VT loss was gifted to them, so it works both ways. And there's no way we lose to Duke if we had either beaten VT or if Randy Johnson hadn't been injured.

So it works both ways.

We could be anything from a six or seven win team to an eleven win team this year. We are what we are this year.

The good news is our offense is pretty legit, at least when Duke is playing. We're really missing him right now.

I wasn't aware Duke Johnson played defense. We ran the ball for 186 yards on 29 carries against Duke. We put up 565 yards against Duke. Not having Johnson was not the problem. Duke probably wouldn't have done much against VT either with the way they play run defense. Also, we're 8-3 with wins against 4-7 (soon to be 4-8) Florida, South Florida, Florida Atlantic, Savannah State, 4-7 Wake Forest as well as 7-4 GT and 6-5 UNC. Not all 8-3 is the same. Lastly, most sane people aren't calling for Golden to be fired. Coach D, that's another story.

First of all, I never said our defense was any good. Second, I said we were gifted 2 to 3 games, just like VT was gifted their game.

We have a top 5 offense when Duke is playing, and our defense is easily in the bottom half of the 120 FBS teams. Probably in the mid 80's, so ******* really bad.

So what I'm saying is we deserve our record of 8-3, we have a good offense, and a bad defense. The obvious answer to my mind is to make some changes on defense after the season is over and the decision makers have a chance to evaluate options.

Was the season a failure? Well we didn't make the ACC Champ game and that was our goal, so we failed that. BUT, we are a better team this year than we were last year. We have a good recruiting class coming in, and we're improving. So we're moving in the right direction. We just need to make some changes on defense.

Sure there is a reality factor to it and that is why a National Championship is not what we expected. However, we allowed an average UNC to dominate the game with one player, squeak by a below average Wake Forest team at home, make an abysmal VT offense put up 42 on us at home and get spanked by Duke while giving up 350 yards rushing alone.

We are by no means the same team every week. We came out guns blazing, energized and fired up vs Florida. In every ACC game except FSU we have come out flat, uninterested and sluggish. GT, UNC, Wake, FSU, VT and Duke have all had DOUBLE DIGIT leads on us. That is a blueprint for a bad team and I can not believe you think that Duke and VT is better than us. Agree that Duke is better than they have been in the past but good god their players are not better than ours. We beat 1 team under Randy that was better than us which was a Bradfordless OU. The true character of a Randy Shannon team was seen at the Sun Bowl with more concerns of staying warm and throwing snowballs.

We're not as good as you think we are right now man. We're on North Carolina, VT, Duke's level. You call North Carolina average, WE'RE average. There's a lot of parity in the ACC Coastal right now.

We were not the better team against Florida. That was one of the games we were gifted. They ran the ball down our throats, and we couldn't move the ball on them, they just turned the ball over too many times. Hey, I'll take it.

The fact is we need to recruit better to elevate ourselves to that level we all want to be at. This year's class is a good start. We need to stack a few classes in a row like that though.
