Kelly will win 10-11 games every year. That's what makes him a terrific coach; he sets the floor pretty high.

The problem with him at LSU I see is I don't think he'll ever beat Bama while Saban is there. If there's one consistency about his time at ND (at least since 2016), it's that he'll crush it when he's got more talent than the other team, but will struggle if he's at a talent disadvantage.

Where is the line between "you better go undefeated and hoist the hardware" vs "we need consistent good seasons"?

Conference championship appearance is the minimum expectation, IMO. That includes year one.

Lincoln Riley is the most overpaid coach. USC gonna be OU west. Win the Pac12 and then lose in the playoff by 30. His OU teams had talent everywhere, but still struggled with Iowa St, Baylor and he lost to a couple of mediocre Texas teams if I’m not mistaken. He’ll win 10games every year, but I bet Chip Kelly owns him. My $0.02.

I disagree. USC is a much bigger national brand than OU. They will attract defensive front 7 players, first from their own backyard and nationwide. Something they didnt at OU. That's where the playoff teams separate. Defensive front 7 talent.

Imo opinion, if you are a school like Texas A&M, Miami or USC who have been in the dumps wallowing in mediocrity. Yes you have to pay to bring in coaching experience and talent as well as stability. So the kids know you aint just gonna be fired for losing plus you have the staff to develop. Its already paying off in recruiting for A&M and will for us and USC. When we are humming there is nothing like it and the salary is an after thought. I just find it funny all these state schools dropping bags and the national media says nothing. Miami uses its own money...tear drops
