Yearby

Funny thing about stats...

When Walton balls out and has 100+ yards it's because the opponents defense was trash.
When Walton fails to hit 100 it's because he can't excel against good competition.

It doesn't occur to some people that certain defenses are just really good against the run and/or sell-out to stop it. (like WVU did)

WVU blitzed the **** out of us and played man coverage a lot. That's why we were able to open up the passing game once we got some protection.

I guess I'm in the minority around here but Walton is clearly better than Yearby IMO. Other than cutting ability, there's nothing that Yearby does better. Walton is way more dynamic, runs harder and has more speed.

You're absolutely correct. Joe runs more upright and has the jump-cut going because he's not a fast guy. Walton is a superior specimen, athlete, and football player.

There's things that I've seen Walton do that Yearby couldn't do in his lifetime. (ex: His long run against FSU that got called back)

Walton can't do things Yearby can do; Cut off both feet full stride. Catch and run while making the first two defenders miss. Get small in the whole. Use his peripheral vision to see holes open before they are there.. etc... Again we aint bashing Walton or talking about which RB is better..

No. I think that is where you and others become overly sensitive. If Walton is as good as you think he is he and Gus should not have 17 for 37 combined yards heading into the half with a 21 point lead against West Virginia. Again, this argument is not about which RB is better.

Walton and Gus has to be the first RB combo the hurricanes ever had that if either one of them were to break you hesitated to cheer for fear that it is a real possibility that they may fall down!!! Now tell me I'm a lie??? HEEHEE... LOL!!

Easier to cut off both feet in full stride when you run a 4.9 forty. lol

All jokes aside, I 100% disagree.

If Yearby is as good as yall think he is he would be starting. (and likely would be on the NFL's radar)

WVU completely sold out to stop the run. None of our RB's were gonna be productive. That's why we had to go spread and throw the ball.

Pretty sure Walton ran for 120 against NC State, who had one of the top rushing defenses in the country.

You're insane if you think Yearby makes some of the plays that Walton made this year.

Like I said on page 1, anybody going this hard to argue that Yearby is better based on 3 carries is simply trolling & looking to bash Walton.

You can say over & over again that you're not trying to bash him, but the reality is some of y'all just legit don't like Walton for whatever reason & that's the true motive behind all this nonsense you're going on about.

I'm a Yearby fan as well, but it's beyond obvious Walton is the best back on the team, this thread is simply ridiculous.

You're also disagreeing with a coaching staff that's seen/coached a bunch of stud Running Backs. They seem to think Walton is better too.

I'm also willing to bet that Walton ends up being drafted higher.

It's one thing to question the opinion of other posters, it's another thing to question the opinion of a guy who's coached a bunch of elite RB's.

Agreed. Typical ****ery around here trying to pin Cane against Cane. I like Yearby just fine. Wish him the absolute best in his decision and ventures. I also happen to think Walton is a better player. I don't think this is some Da Vinci Code, Illuminati type **** and I don't care to delve into the depths of conspiracy legend to solve this lost playing time riddle.

Walton and Gus had 17 touches combined for 37 yards before Yearby entered the game to show these blind runners where the running lanes were. Yearby's 3 runs for 16 was **** near half the total yards these so called elite backs you clowns think are better had the entire first half and first few minutes of the second half. Clearly Yearby is better. But that is not the argument today. We want the story that the school and the media is scared to put out there.

FYI - 81 yards; 34 attempts; 2.4 ypc against West Virginia. U take away Yearby carries and yards. 65 yards; 31 attempts; 2.0 ypc Walton and Gus elite, I think not!

Who is "we" homeboy? The only one pressing this issue is you. Nobody else cares because everyone else can see that Walton is the better back and we all know that starting jobs are EARNED and not gifted to you just because.

Yearby was OK and I have nothing but love for him as a Cane, but dude just got beat out plain and simple by Walton

Best man plays, that's how it has to be

You and the rest of these clowns keep trying to turn this argument into Walton vs Yearby. When I bring out the facts now yawl salty. We love Walton. Our argument was and always will be for the real reason the staff stop playing Yearby.

Calm your weak *** down SpongeBob SquarePants! We been arguing for the real reason the staff has turned on Yearby and not from your cross eyed point of view!!!

Give walton as many carries as possible.

Been the best back on our team for a minute.

Yearby has been better than Gus though.

We'll be fine with Homer and Burns/McFarland as backups next year

It's not even close Yearby makes all those plays with half the effort. If Walton had vision he would take less hits. And if he had balance he would break more runs... Nuff Said!!!

This is a football team, not a Mexican soap opera. Nobody "turned" on anyone, there is no hidden drama, so tell us again what kind of story are you looking for?

Dude just got beat out by a bigger and faster back. Why is that complicated for you?

You and the rest of these blind bots are as dumb as a box of rocks if you think 31 for 65 yards at 2.0 ypc beat out Yearby!!! It's more to this story Bob!!!

I also disagreed with a previous staff that said they should pass on safeties that were fast despite their claims that their best safeties ran high 4.7s... Turns out I was right!!!

Like what, you think Yearby broke some rules or something? Seems like a good kid to me and I doubt it.

I think Walton just has a lot more upside, and we happen to have a position coach who thinks he can polish a diamond.

In other words, you can't teach speed and size and Yearby might have peaked already as far as what a coach can do for him

Yearby came in already very well coached. Walton has always been a little more raw
