Look I'm normally labeled a "mope" on this site, in fact I've been purgatoried and temp banned in the past for giving honest takes about our failures as a program. But I'm usually right and our record over the years has born that out. For example, I got roasted for ripping on Emory weeks before yesterday's performance.

I say y'all are overreacting right now. Did the season end in disaster? Yes. But we still won 10 games and the foundation of this team is strong. We're not that far away from being a playoff team.

I say that because we're good at the line of scrimmage and that is A.) the hardest part of the team to build and get right and B.) usually can't be fixed quickly. We also have good RBs and a few good pieces at wideout.

Obviously if we go in to next season rolling with what we've got, it's gonna be bad. Like 5 wins bad. BUT.... the good news is that there is still time to fix what needs fixing, and I think the things that need fixing CAN be fixed pretty quickly in the portal.

That starts with a QB obviously. We need to spend money on the best QB available like we did last cycle. Then we need about 3 more starting caliber DBs, a stud linebacker, a star WR, and I wouldn't be mad if we got another DT as well.

Then obviously the defensive coaching staff has to turn over. They need to spend some money there as well and get us a real DC.

Basically all the things everyone has been saying.

Basically yesterday's result (and all of November's results) have shown that making these upgrades is not optional, we can't "roll with the young guys" or "roll with what we've got," we've got to SPEND money, make the changes that need to be made, but the core of the team that won 10 is still here and we CAN build on that rolling in to next season.

Do those things, beat Notre Dame, beat Florida, and the narrative around here flips back to sunshine and rainbows real quick, and y'all can go back to calling me a mope again.

I’ve already moved past last night. It’s plenty of time to get better. Will it happen? Who knows!

1) Mario needs to realize with NIL you don’t need as much emphasis on “recruiters”. When/if he makes changes on the defense he needs to focus more on “teachers/tactians”. It’s no excuse for players 15 weeks into a season to not even be in the right position. It would be different if players were in the right position and just out talented. Either they’re not teaching something correctly or players just saying Fck it.

2) He should look for a bridge QB and also a young 4 or 5 star high upside QB in the spring preferably with 3ish years remaining. Take the bridge and the young guy.

Maybe Mario can convince Pitbull on naming right to HRS...

Don’t forget TE and C.

Won 10 games for 2nd time in 20 years?
Is that the standard now? 10 games with nothing else to show? No national championships, no acc championships, no acc title game appearances, no bowl wins. I think this is the issue with the fanbase. Some are content with 7-5 and the occasional 10-win season. I can say, I certainly expect more than that, especially with the financial investments. If I was content with that, I'd cheer for Rutgers.

- the best QB available, 3 more starting caliber DBs, a stud linebacker, a star WR, and possibly another DT. Plus an entire D-staff.

So to quantify...6 more starters (27% of the starting lineup) from the portal, many of which are gone, or we'll only win 5 games? Let's hope the starters on these playoff teams and NYE bowl games don't like playing where they're at.

No, not the standard or goal, but look around. Evaluate your surroundings. Miami has been a middle road ACC team for better part of 20 years so much so that this 10 win season is the 2nd in 20 years.

No disagreements from me and no I don't think you're a mope.. lol...
My issue is losing 3 of the last 4 and the manner in by which they happened... Bitter pill to swallow...

I'm not trying to pick on you at all. I just want to know if we have pivoted as a fanbase. Am I the only one on this island that still believes this can be a championship program and at least win the ACC and get to the CFP and be relevant ala Ohio State every year.

Is that all?

I’d just like to know who our QB will be next year is all

I’m good with Nickel currently with the depth chart but that’s gotta change

We will never be a playoff team with a head coach that makes such astonishingly stupid decisions time and time again.

During the last two games, Cristobal has settled for Field Goals in critical situations where his offense is running the ball down the opponent's throat and his defense couldn't make a stop if their lives were dependent upon it.

We knew upon his hire that gameday coaching was not a strength and three seasons in, this notion is validated. This season feels like the high point, even if UM continues to out-recruit its competition. Cristobal is no X's and O's savant and, in all likelihood, we're about to introduce our 3rd defensive coordinator in 4 years. He just isn't good enough.

Yeah and a center too, and a TE if Dawson wants one. It'll cost a fortune but we were told Miami is spending money and is serious about football. Guess we'll find out.

I just hate the fact that we finally got an elite QB, and couldn’t field a half decent defense. Now we’ll fix the defense and the offense will be just as bad as the defense was this season…go Canes!!
