we didn't miss the playoffs this year because of some forces working against us. We **** down our own leg. For a long time, Clemson was really the only team repping from the ACC on the national scale. I don't see why we can't be that or compete with them for that.
every 5 star in this class signed with the Big 10 or SEC. The writing is on the wall. ACC is a dying conference

Wisconsin is acting like he’s the next Charles Woodson smh. Let that man live his life! “It’s cool when they do it, it’s a problem when we do it” Will be thankful when he’s in the orange & green! Go canes

No, no, no that’s because Mario can’t recruit, didn’t you hear?? The CIS experts told me.
NIL money matters more than having a traditionally elite recruiting head coach these days as I see it. I think conference matters too to a degree. I think it’s seen like:

SEC
B1G
ND
ACC/Big 12

Two things can be true at the same time. There were SEC-SEC-SEC forces working against us all year long. Yes, we ALSO **** down our own leg, but e only lost two road games by 5 and 4 points (the latter to a now-ranked team).

When the SEC was screaming all year long about "quality losses", Miami had some of the "best" of the "quality losses". Objectively.

Ask UGa about GaTech.

It really soured me on CFB this year. I can accept not getting in after GT and Syracuse but not behind Alabama. It showed us that the system goal is to put as many SEC and BIG teams in as possible regardless of performance. What’s the point of the CFB playoff for everyone else? At this point, they can do an ACC and Big 12 championship and an SEC/B1G playoff and let the winners play or whatever

How about Tennessee? there was no conversation about if they belonged? their best win was bama, they barely survived UF.
they were exposed by OSU.

I completely agree. It was sketchy when Alabama jumped us for beating Mercer while we were on a bye week. And that happened the week BEFORE the Oklahoma massacre.

Going to the Big 12 from the ACC would do nothing to improve playoff odds. That'd be like a bouncer looking someone (the ACC) up and down, and telling them they're not on the list. Going home and changing clothes (moving to the Big 12) isn't going to get them in.

Or Texas whose resume was basically the same as Indiana’s but was the 5 seed and there wasn’t a single peep about them being a fraud.

Yes. I know they wound up beating Clemson, who only made it due to a ridiculously easy ACC schedule.

Exactly. 3 losses and getting murked by a terrible Oklahoma team in November and jumping us on a bye week for beating Mercer …

They should just select the teams at the end of the year like the basketball committee. You're always going to have pretzel logic to explain yourself with something as subjective as this. However 8 weeks (or however many it is) of pretzel logic way way too much.

Texas spends as much as anyone for recruits, they better find a way to win it all at some point.

Texas is the one that's hard to justify.

Their "difficult" SEC schedule was a joke. They played 6 of the 7 bottom teams in the SEC standings, Texas A&M, who they struggled to beat 17-7, and UGA, who they lost to.

Their non conference schedule was UL Monroe, Colorado State, UTexas San Antonio, and Michigan.

The only ranked team they played all year was UGA, who they lost both games to.

What did they do to EARN their ranking?
