Xavier Lucas in the portal

Huge win if we land him. Agree with others here that we’ll need one CB, one Nickel, two safeties and one more DB from the portal to fully reconstruct and fix the secondary.

That’s not to say OJ or Damari won’t be starters. But we need 6-7 starting caliber DBs in total going in to ND game. I currently see at most 2-4 on roster who could get there by Labor Day (OJ, Brown, Mack and Day) … and only OJ has proven anything. More may emerge later in the season, but you can’t count on that.

Patterson as well and poster now unless you meant just corners

last year damari was the next Patrick Peterson when people thought he was leaving with his bro. He gives up a big catch in cuse game after being injured since the first half of UF game and now hes a bust and trash. lol
I don’t think anyone thought he was that except a certain brigade of slurpers posters.

I for one haven’t been impressed at all. He’s average (at best) in a bad room, which makes people think he’s good.

Who did UF immediately target in the opener? Not OJ…Damari. Billy Napier with a sack of rocks for brains knew who to go after.

Maybe nickel will allow him to be more physical and accentuate his strengths, but he definitely isn’t a starter at any boundary or outside position. Not here, and not on any program that envisions themselves a contender.

And yet they still don’t pull 5 star players in the portal or recruiting. I hear this nonsense all the time. And there is no facts or results to prove it.

Preferably some Juniors or seniors with a lot of experience since OJ, Brown and the rest of the guys are still green and are Sophmores or younger

We

Now the moto is all recruits suck unless they are great as freshman
They can never develop and we must go the portal
Plus injuries like brown don't matter
Portal

That's what happens when you get paid. "Give the kids time" works when you're a student and you're there playing football for free while you're studying. But if someone is paying you a grown man salary then you're expected to produce and if you don't you get processed. Comes with the territory.

…..and the fact that he was hurt all of this year strengthens my point. The same way that “I can’t judge him” and say he is bad, he can’t be crowned as a shoe in either. 🤷🏾‍♂️
... Honestly if he was already kinda flaky and looking to leave after his freshman year here, and now we are about to bring in 2-3 CBs in winter portal - one of which is Xavier Lucas who was basically 2nd team frosh All American CB, and possibly Charles Brantley who will be a SR.... AND OJ is clearly about to start outside again who actually was Frosh AA, I wouldn't be surprised if Damari left in Spring...

Damari either is going to be big nickel or should probably move to safety... Or can just play that typical UGA Star role that they had Tyrique Stevenson playing... That the exact role he should probably have.

That's how simpletons feel I get it but recruiting and developing is still important to the macro level success
Plenty of teams will roll out 2nd and 3rd players that have developed in their program
For OL and Dl some in 4th and 5th year
