And anger over not being appreciated and/or compensated, while chasing lots of Portal WRs.
Coaches should've communicated to him you're our guy but we're losing a lot and wanna surround you with more guys (major pause) who can allow you to keep shining. I understand why he would've felt a bit slighted. My gut tells me he stays after things get worked out.

8 receptions
95 yards
0 Tds

Combined stats of Ray Ray, Jo Jo, Ny and Chance. I'm sure Mateer loves that.
Yeah this sucks! There’s no way to spin it. Excellent point on Mateer. Wish we found a way . Our top ten players should never be allowed to leave. Pay them.

We let Colbie Young get away and got lucky that Horton stepped up the way he did. We can’t hope to be that lucky two times in a row!!

It's not only about that.

First, Horton is just plain better than Young ever was. And looks to have upside. Second, when Young left, we still had X and George. Now 3 of our Top 4 WRs are going pro, and Horton hit the portal. We need him back for team continuity, leadership, optics and because he's a **** good WR who our coaches developed.

Miami WR Isaiah Horton has signed the papers necessary to enter the Transfer Portal.

The 6’4, 205-pounder from Tennessee caught 56 passes for 616 yards and 5 TDs this season.

Miami is expected to continue discussions with Horton and other top WRs in the Portal.

This bums me out. Solid receiver. Key player in Canes going 10-2. Why?

Easy, money.
Expect this to be the norm going forward.

Kid A signs with school, kid A redshirts/plays sparingly freshman year, kid A burst on the scene and does ANYTHING relevant year 2, kid A will either ask for more money or will hit the portal because another school out there is lurking and desperate for a player at kid A’s position and willing to pay him more than he was making at initial school.

It will be that, or some variation of that for the foreseeable. I understand why people don’t like what this has become, but as a Miami fan..this is the only reason we are able to stay relevant if we are being honest so 🤷🏾‍♂️. Play ball.

You’re assuming they didn’t. It wouldn’t surprise me these days that the expectation is for you to not only give me a massive raise but to not go after anyone that could possibly outshine me in spring ball.

If he wants to go because he thinks he's got a better deal, then let him go, tell him don't let the door hit you in the **** on the way out, and move on. I like Horton and appreciate what he did, but it wasn't always great or even good. He has plenty to learn and I wish he would stay where he's doing the learning, but if someone thinks he's worth more than grab that offer and show us how wrong we are. I think there are several others we can plug in and play and get similar production, some of whom are already in Coral Gables. Good luck, IH, but again don't let the door hit you in the **** on the way out.

Just wanna add to what you said which I 100 percent agree. Horton also had 3 solid games in 2023 from the Texas A&M, Rutgers and 1 of the ACC games (I forget which one). So he had showed some flashes that he was ready to take Colbie Young spot. Today, none of our young WRs have really showed anything to make you think that any of them are ready to start. So losing Horton would be a big blow cause that means its going to be a whole new set of starting WRs next year
