In thinking about a guy like Carroll's ability to hone in on a new position, and develop players, Im wondering why McDonald never caught a lot of heat for all the drops we had last year??
Didn't Fisch coach WRs at Denver or something? I thought he coached Brandon Marshall at some point? If I'm correct, then Fisch will have his eye on that coaching spot regardless.

I prefer he focuses on the offense play-calling and QB's only. WR is more of a natural position that you can get by with athleticism - especially in college.

Yeah......no.

So what you are saying in your well thought out, informative post, is that WR takes the same amount of technical skill than a QB in college?
Let's face it, RB and WR are the two easiest positions to transition from High School to College. Guys who are not as technically sound can still get by just by being athletic.
Yeah . . . no.

The WR coach cant catch the ball for these kids.
A lot of those drops if not most of them are on the players. Whether it was them not looking the ball in, trying to catch it with their body, or thinking TD before they even caught it.
Cant blame coaches for everything, players have to be accountable too.
Yep. ND game not withstanding, I thought our receivers made tremendous strides this year.Didn't Fisch coach WRs at Denver or something? I thought he coached Brandon Marshall at some point? If I'm correct, then Fisch will have his eye on that coaching spot regardless.

Seriously think back before McDonald about how horrible our wr's as a unit were

Bingo, now lets apply this philosophy fairly to all staff members especially those with the worst personnel

they cannot regress. I mean just think I went to four games this year. all away games and I personally saw over 10 dropped passes. If we would've caught another 15-20 passes that were dropped could've been the difference between 2-3 wins last season.
