WR Bubble Screens

Ban bubble screens to Hurns! Put Coley and Waters on the outside and Hurns and Dorsett inside, throw screens.

The thing with running them to hurns is that he has more strength than those guys so he can break an arm tackle and get a lot more yards. We did this pretty frequently last year and Hurns picked up a lot of first downs for us. I do think we need to mix up who we throw them to so we keep the DBs off balance.
But he has no speed.

Bubble screens work when the receiver can take the ball 8-10 yards with just one good block. i.e. they can go from 0-60mph in a split second.

the bubble screens are called in partly to bring the cbs up to the line throughout the course if the game so that coley, dorsett, waters, scott , lewis, etc can then get behind the defense easily as long as they can break the press. It allows ua to use our advantage at wr which is most definitely speed and not possession after the last game and much of last year.

I would also like to see some screens to waters/ coley as I think those two have great agility and can make a guy miss. Hurns is most reliable receiver though and maybe morris is calling screens for everyone but just throwing to hurns? Im not sure I havent seen the tape, its weird to me that defenders are playing off of Hurns so much considering he isn't known for speed.

I highly anticipate florida playing physical with our receivers at the line of scrimmage all game on Saturday so screens might be hard to come by

Tight coverages and man across and I suppose we just isolate Duke on a LB with screens. I'd take a screen to Duke over a WR screen anyday of the week.

First thing's first...

You gotta be able to run the ball for the bubble to be there. You gotta give the defense a reason to load that box, then you can expose the perimeter.
