I have always felt that when it comes to Mario, the question is who else then. How many coaches today have won national championship? The other aspect is longevity for instance. What ties Ryan day or Dan Lanning to their current position. I don’t think either of those guys would hesitate to leave for an NFL job if the money were right.

In both of those scenarios, those coaches walked into winning situations. They were able to sustain that and elevate it, but still have no national championships. Although Ohio Ohio State might win this year. However, the common denominator between those two as they have significant financial backing in roster creation.

Mario could win multiple national championships and I doubt he would ever leave. I also don’t know if there’s another coach that would care and work as hard as he does to try and get things right.

With that being said, he clearly has plenty of deficiencies that leave you scratching your head. My hope is that as the game continues to change every year, so does he. We need to get to a more sustainable model of wins and season production. I personally think we’re closer to that than not.

If we move on from him, who do we replace him with and how long before we’re at the same question again?

I wouldn't just move on from him to move on because we've had a somewhat underwhelming 3 years. I will say this - if he doesn't win at least 8 games next year, no matter how great we look in those losses or what injuries took away from us, I will be ready to move on.

Now, if he pulls off 9 wins, I'm on the bubble, but if he pulls off 10 wins, then I'm still fully on board with MC and assume that he is slowly...ever so slowly...building this thing for sustained success.

We all wanna get to the next level.... but listen... there's also a next level DOWN, as well. I would give him to after his 4th season before even entertaining the idea of ****canning him. With the improvements that he's made to the infrastructure of the program, I would at last give him that. After the 5th season......

1000%! I would trust Emory getting us to 10 wins before I trusted UM and the Athletic department to get the right coach and not f*** it up AGAIN. I think Mario loves this school as much as anyone we have had in the spot. More! He's trying his best. He is a Gen X'er so I think he see's things from both sides.

Let's be honest here. Everyone is D*** riding Dan Lanning @ Oregon. Has Dan Lanning done more than Mario? Nope. And Lanning was handed a pretty solid culture and team. Mario stepped into a pile of sh**. What about Ryan Day? What has he won? F***, they want him out even with his record.

At least Mario is beating our rivals. I am not a slurper. But who better are we going to get?

Just curious how many people would hit a reset at head coach RIGHT NOW if they could. Here are the only assumptions (I know they aren't realistic):

1) There is no buyout, basically we get the Mark Richt deal
2) The financial support from the school does not change
You should have made this poll so that we can see how people voted. I can’t change it to that.

This would be my only real concern, the actual main issue with the football program is the "leadership" which has been worse than any other university the past 20 years. I'm assuming it's better now but we don't know for sure.

All this man gotta do is fix the Defense. Now, can he do it In year 4?
Can he hire a DC for the long haul? Can he acquire elite secondary players and backers? Special teams i would add also needs to be under the microscope.

I thought about it but i wanted as accurate a response as possible. If i can bait and switch it after the fact and expose everybody, I'll definitely do it lmao.

Voting is pretty close here. Of the "Yes" votes. Who would you bring in? Gruden? Lashlee? Do they need to ride in on a yacht? Turnover chain?

Yes. Centennial Anniversary. New basketball, football and baseball coaches.

Not buying that we’ll **** it up, remember Joe is from Deloitte and gets it and the University has bought in… 👀

You can’t do that. If they vote with the privacy thing on, that’s it. I don’t think it could be changed to public even if you want to and I want to.

No. If we don't have Mario, we don't have Cam Ward, we don't have top 10 classes, and we don't win 10 games this year. Should we have won more with Cam, yes, but consider the alternative.

The other thing is Mario seems to learn from his mistakes and correct them. Sometimes too slow for our liking - for example MANY of us were saying preseason that we needed to fix the secondary because we saw how **** that group was on paper and it was obvious. They rolled with what they had and we got the result we got.

But now he's fixing it and getting us a new D coordinator. So he fixes the issues, just slowly.

This year the obvious glaring hole is we need a QB. We need a WR1, we need probably 2 more DBs, and we need a linebacker. If we nail those positions we should be set up for a great year.
