Without Cam Ward…

Next years team has alot of pieces.

OL could be elite
RB room very good
TE room very good
WRs solid

Need to figure out QB position

Defense has young pieces, lots of work to do

To play devils advocate

OL Room - really need to see who declares. Could be looking at having to replace 3/5 starters next years if some declare even when they shouldn’t.
RB Room - not worried even if Martinez declares
TE Room - unproven if Arroyo leaves to NFL. No proven blocker either with Cam finally graduating and getting degree 6.
WR room- Sam brown and Horton move up the depth chart then a ton of unproven freshmen. Don’t think that’s good enough to compete for a CFP spot without a high pick a QB.
QB- see above

Defense - I like alot of our young guys as well but the reality is most are not ready to be impact players or even starters next year.

Probably looking at another 7-10 portal starters for next years team which is wild for a team that preaches a recruiting focus in year 3 of a HC.

…this team is 5-5 right now with losses to:

GT
VT
Cal
Duke
Louisville

IMO, 6-4, 7-3 at best without Cam Ward

Louisville, VT, and Cal I think would have been definite losses

Cam has covered up so many warts on this team

The talent evaluation has been a massive struggle with high school recruiting. I hope it doesn’t rear its ugly head next year with a stiffer schedule

God knows we don’t have elite Xs and Os coaches to out scheme wins to superior opponents

I mean if you take away any team’s star quarterback they’re going to be a lot worse. Maybe Texas would still be where they are with Arch Manning but we don’t have multiple 5 star too quarterback recruits on our roster. Almost nobody does.

We don’t have 5 draft eligible starters on the offensive line. Even if every single guy that could, left early, Francis isn’t eligible. Carpenter is the only one without any remaining eligibility. I thought Rivers was out too but I’ve seen him listed as a Junior on multiple websites.

I agree with you 100%.

All of Miami’s major contributors are portal players.

There is limited to no young talent (current Sophmores or younger) anywhere on this roster.

I. Am. Disappoint.

I thought Carpenter/Rivers gone from eligiability, plus Cooper doing what most 3 year canes starters do and declare regardless of if they get drafted or not. So that would be 3/5. Only one declaring for the draf not 3/5 getting drafted. Could have worded it better.

On Rivers- He would be going into year 6 if he stays. He's probably a 5-7th round guy. He can play every position on the Oline which is huge.

Next year we have to hope the Fr/Sophs start to show they are ready. The Solid/Good Jr's become even better. Mix in some portal and maybe 1-2 freshman who can help right away.

I think next year is a bit of a plateau...and by that I mean 10 wins and a few losses but all very close I think that may tick some people off but its been so long that if you told me 2 years ago that year 3 and 4 would be back to back double digit win seasons I'd be pretty psyched.

Now if we strike gold with even 80% of Cam and all the returning guys take the next step...who knows. I've always felt the final game of the season up to the bowl was huge giving those kids extra practices.

Without his balls my uncle is my aunt.
Without Christmas there’s no Santa.
Without Batman there’s no Robin.
Without Linda Lovelace there’s no Deepthroat.
Without Tom Brady, Bill Belichick never wins a Super Bowl.
Without CiS cway would find somewhere to be unhappy.
Without Dave’s Carradine Kung Fu movies never happen.
Without cigars no one remembers Monica Lewinsky.
Without Nevin Shapiro we still have Al Golden.

Perhaps, or maybe the team plays better as a team, because they aren't so damned comfortable with Cam saving their rear ends.

While Cam has covered up some warts, I also believe he has exposed some. Our team looks like they are relying only on him. I'm talking consciously believing that he has their backs, so they don't have to try so hard. "Oh we're gonna score 50, so what does it matter if GT scores 28?" Week after week. Same old crap.

3/5 is a fraction not a range. (Rivers Carpenter, Cooper)

Huh? We’ll lose x, JG, and probably brown and Kirk. Horton is really good. Carr and trader barely sniffed the field and need more s&c.

I say the WR is a huge question mark For next year.
