Without Cam Ward…

Would Oregon be undefeated without Gabriel? I’m pretty certain they would have 3 losses currently without him right now.

The point is: we have Ward and are 9-1 with all of our goals still in front of us. Teams lose. Good teams get upset every year. All the time. We know we have warts. But currently we are 9-1 with a path to the CFP.
I agree.

Cam is the best player in the country. Obviously, we'd be a lot worse without him. But you don't just subtract him and say we lose every game that was reasonably close. We'd be a whole different team with a different play style.

There are plenty of real facts worth talking about. No need to waste time on hypothetical "facts."
Why don't the coaches prepare the team better? Whybare players constantly out of position? Why cant we make defensive adjustments in the first half? Questions that actually matter never get answered. All fluff no substance. The roster is not in a good place no matter how many people mention elite or class rank. We don't have enough yet alone the level of help on the way.

Yeah but X says he’s a better safety when asked

People don't think like this. They should but don't. Human existence is simply a matter of circumstance & perspective.
If people understood & applied that to their thought process, they'd better understand, appreciate & accept their's & other's situation, macro & micro.

But you know ain't nobody got time for that **** lol

Ward is the reason we were 9-0. OP is right that we would have more losses without him. He is not a generational talent. He's overrated if anything. He won't make it in the league. If my NFL team used a first round pick on him, I'd be ****ed

I would like an answer from D Money on this. These post never really get answered from Mods

Idc what some guy posted during the Cal game. Again no **** what we would worse without Cam you're not saying anything anybody doesn't know and again it's a useless point we do have Cam.

Take a nap; no one was attacking u. This thread was for those who WERE BLAMING CAM. I was explaining WHY the thread was made & WHO it was for. If that doesn’t apply to u, then chill out.

I think that there have been real improvement on offense. Cam makes it that much better and spectacular but the numbers I think show that the supporting cast on offense has been there.
NOW on defense it's total regression and truly unexcusable. Almost unthinkable how far they have fallen in one year. Ultimately that falls on Mario.
I agree with this. I don’t think the OL is as good as I thought it would be on offense though I think the WR and RB play has improved and Dawson has gotten the TEs involved more.

It's almost like people didn't understand the team peaked early, 2026-2027 was always the target through recruiting building the dumpster fire that was left.
Cam masked some major depth issues
Frustrated with Mario today but I'll take a 9-1 start in year 3

He is overrated. He’s dumb and plays street ball like Johnny Manziel did. See how that worked out for Johnny in the NFL? How many times has X George and Horton had to bail him out on simple throws?

How many years did it take Harbaugh to be build an elite roster?

How many years did it take Mark Richt to build UGa to the point where Kirby and more money could get them over the top then how many years or Kirby building?

How many years did Jim Tressel build OSU to turn it over to Urban?

How many top classes does LSU have and still can’t seem to dominate year in and year out?

How many years of Dabo building Clemson?

no one said this roster is elite top to bottom. there are clear holes we all know that.

Ppl want a dominant team but refuse to go through the process that it takes to build a machine.

And start complaining and whining at the every sign of adversity.

It’s week 9, I’m not giving Guidry a pass but we’ve seen this defense fail to execute regardless of the scheme.

The safeties have under performed their expectations.

Kiko has been terrible and is a liability out there.

The DLine has not been the force we expected.

You’re seeing different personnel, you’re seeing different scheme heavy use of man.

Unfortunately at this moment the call doesn’t seem to matter because at the moment if truth we aren’t making the play.

I think u’re missing the point.

During the Cal game, we had a thread saying Cam is not elite. We have fans this game blaming Cam.

Cam has his flaws, he’s our 2024 version of Brett Farve, but w/o him, this team is 5-5. Not one Chiefs fan blaming Pat for a L, or saying that he’s not elite. That’s the point, that we’re fortunate that Cam is QB1 here b/c w/o him, we’re 5-5.
I think its a fair point. Cam gonna Cam. But any Cane fan saying he’s not up there with any QB that’s been at Miami (I was an undergrad at Miami in the 70’s, Hasn’t been paying attention… He’s pulled out how many wins this year? It just caught up today. Team loss.

"OL is as good as I thought it would be"

Can't disagree with that. They are not bad and at times are really good but I thought they would be better.
I guess thats why they pursued the LG guard from the portal that went to Ole miss I think.
