Why have we not offered him yet? Do you think we plan on offering him? The Edouard offer may have been a slap in the face.

I'm pretty sure he has his offer in hand (said he was going to commit on 2/6).

Not sure what the case/status is now.

2014 QB Flowers Close to Offer
Miami Jackson QB Quinton Flowers has been one of the most productive players in South Florida for the past three seasons. The 'Canes hosted him on campus today for the first junior day of the year."

“I went out there and everybody was nice. I loved the atmosphere and if you didn’t know something about the school it was easy for them to answer your question.”

Flowers had communicated with the Miami staff before, but today was really the first time he had a chance to get to know them better.

“I talked to Mike Barrow, Coach Golden came and talked to me for a little while, and Coach Fisch too. It was the first time I had talked to Golden. They were asking me if I liked the facility and the atmosphere for what it would be like to be a Miami player.”

While he doesn't hold a Miami offer just yet, Flowers says it should be coming soon.

“They said basically by the ending of February or early March I should be getting it.”

The Jackson QB went more in-depth about his experience on campus.

“There was one lady who was walking me around campus and she did a good job of explaining what it’s like to be a student-athlete. I had a good time too with (Chad) Thomas from Booker T, Randy ‘Duke’ Johnson, Deon Bush, and Tracy Howard.”

Flowers was not shy with his overall thoughts on the University of Miami.

“I think it will be the place that I’ll be.”

the kid is fast, shifty, huge hands for his size and single handedly wills his team to wins. Bring him in and find him a spot

Love him as a prospect. Hope he is a 'Cane.

That said, I am so sick of this "hope we didn't hurt his feelings" attitude. This isn't UNICEF. We will offer when he has earned an offer. If he can't deal with having to wait a little he is going to have a real hard time showing up somewhere as a freshman where they tell him "Welcome to campus, QB6."

Dont know. I have to say this is going to be a tricky situation. Kid is a very good athlete... and would be an asset to the team. But With Edouard on board, going to be hard to take Flowers as a QB. If he is set on playing QB, this could be a real squeeze. I would rather take a real QB like White, than to just take Winky and Edouard. I dont see Winky ever being a QB here. I also think Edouard needs a lot of work, and wouldnt be ready for a few years. I also cant see us taking 3 QBs unless Crow, Dewey AND Thompson all bolt.

CaneInsider did an article with him and Winky said he received his offer from Barrow at Junior Day last month. It's from Bastian so TIFWIW.

Scout has him listed with an offer as well.

Really good complementary class of Edouard and Winky. Especially on the heels of Olsen. That's a great, versatile 2-year coup.

There was article posted about the first junior day that stated he had an offer. On fact he even said he might have committed on signing day that just passed but he never did

I think between Olsen and Dewey (even though Thompson is my fav) there is one really good QB prospect there, I would be okay with taking Winky and Edouard. We can't have 6 QBs on the roster though, that is way too many.

Ive been saying this for a month. Which is why I dont see ANYway we take 3 QBs in this class. Even if someone like Crow did bolt, you still have Morris, Williams, Dewey, Thompson, Olsen, and now Edouard. If we take someone like White, Mahalek, or Winky, that will be 7Qbs on the roster, EVEN without Crow.

Tough decision to make. My guess is that Mahalek is going to get left out in the cold here. I say they offer some top gun blue chippers on their "wish list", and hope that maybe one of them pulls the trigger, and they can bring him in, otherwise, maybe they just take Winky, and if he doesnt cut it at QB, they move him. That keeps us at 6QBs, which is still heavy, but if Thompson decides to go baseball all the way, we still have 5QBs which is more than enough depth at the position.

What skill players would you not take in order to take Flowers and Edouard? One of them is going to end up a WR or RB, and there are just so many options this year I don't see how you would justify taking both.

Flowers may well end up at WR, so Im not looking at him purely as a QB. Remember, he's a tremendous athlete as it is. I think he would probably be a 4 star recruit at WR right now if he wasnt playing QB.

That said, if he's **** BENT on playing QB, I dont know that I would take him. Were only taking 2, Id rather it be a kid like White. But if Flowers is ok with exploring other positions IF he cant cut it at QB, then I would take him.

FWIW, Morris wouldn't be on the roster

Looks like he might have waited to long, Golden is not playing games anymore.
