Wiltfong with Crystal Ball for Tyrique

I don't have any information that everybody else doesn't have, but. When have we ever landed a kid that looked like a toss-up? Not Chad, AR, or the few other guys we have/had that big teams wanted...those guys wanted to be Canes and didn't play around. I'm talking about the ones that let it be known they were in play, that spent significant time at other schools. When did we ever swing a kid who was committed to an equal or better program? When did we ever win the hat game?

Never.

And that's not me being a battered wife or suffering from PTSD, that's just being real. That's just a fact.

We never get these kinds of kids.

Never.

Chad wanted to be a Cane and so did AR, but both seriously considered Bama. Chad almost flipped and AR didnt make a decision until the week he signed. Everytime we get a kid people try to say "they were coming anyways" or "Bama didnt have room". Its true most of the time, but not every time.

bush with auburn
burns was with one of the bama schools tho i forget
pope -- had to fight bama and UF off for him at the end
nesta -- had to fight uF off (reports vary)

they use us to get offers

This isn't targeted towards you, but I dont get this idea.

On one hand, people say that stars matter now because recruiting and exposure is a lot better than it used to be and Miami arent able to hide the good ones anymore. No more 2*s or unknown kids that will be stars.

On the other hand, there's a narrative that some kids are committing to us early for exposure.

Both of these can't be true.

Gilbert Frierson was almost at UGA too.

I honestly feel like we could do this a bunch.

Anthony Solomon wanted to be a cane and he signed with Michigan now. So "wanted to be a Cane" cant really be what we're using to take away from the few recruiting wins we have.

I never read either of them as coy or flaky. Neither waited til signing day because neither was about the drama.

Put it this way: you say it's not true all the time, fine. What makes you think it's not true this time? Because to me this looks just like a bunch of other guys who used Miami to create drama while knowing the whole time they weren't coming.

AR had tons of drama and put on a Miami hat/committed on NSD. I'm not saying it will happen with Rique, I have 0 knowledge of the situation. Im just saying that it HAS happened in the past. Chad, yes, there was only drama behind the scenes. But AR was full on panic mode.

notable interview :

“I like hitting people,” Stevenson said. “It’s something that I love.”

Stevenson, who ranks as the No. 4 cornerback in 247 Sports’ rankings, ultimately chose to be a defensive back in college. However, Stevenson has yet to publicly choose which team he’ll be playing on.

He has narrowed it down to Georgia and Miami, and he’ll decide on the school publicly on Saturday during the All-American Bowl. He said he’s waiting until his mom gets to the camp, and then the two will talk over the final decision.
“Miami is the crib, and Georgia is something new,” Stevenson said.

I really cant get a tead on anything here. One one hand he says he likes hitting people and we are recruting him primarily as a safety. On the other waiting for Mom to talk things out.. makes me nervous.

Both of our starting safeties and one of our corners are leaving and heading to the NFL. He has a much better chance to come here and get immediate playing team for a top-10 defense in his own backyard and he seems to have a strong desire to be here...

...but yeah, mom's gotta get paid, so...

The AA Game is usually when the last bag is dropped.

Same thing happened with Leo Lewis
